Jake Paul vs AnEsonGib marks a fight where two YouTube celebrities make their pro Boxing debuts. It’s an attraction that coincides with Super Bowl 54 festivities. The event emanates from Meridian at Island Gardens in Miami, Florida. There are multiple world championship bouts on this evening of prizefighting. So while Paul vs Gib satisfies more of a celebrity boxing/novelty type of bout, the card is very much bolstered by legitimate world-class talents. This card is structured similarly to KSI vs Logan Paul II with a bout between YouTubers being used as a device to draw in an entirely new audience — one that will ideally check out the high-level pugilists on the undercard and create a new crop of boxing enthusiasts. KSI and Logan Paul have a tie-in that directly relates to this fight though. Jake Paul wants to fight KSI after this bout and avenge his brother’s decision loss to the UK rapper. It remains to be seen if Jake Paul gets to fight KSI someday, but I do see him emerging victorious from the AnEsonGib fight.

Jake Paul Wins His Debut

Gib is loosely associated with The Sidemen, a British youtube group that features KSI. Adding an additional tendril of connectivity between the KSI vs Logan Paul beef and this upcoming bout. Jake Paul has purportedly been putting in work at Big Bear, a legendary high altitude training facility. Paul is also saying that he is working with legendary former champion Shane Mosley. Gib has been offering up a decent amount of trash talk and seems confident in his own preparations. The world’s foremost boxing minds are coming together to have their say on Jake Paul vs AnEsonGib.

With 10-ounce gloves, six rounds, and no head guards, the match creates a competitive framework that neither man has experienced. Though it was hard to find concrete details on tale of the tape stats, both men seem to be in the 175-200 pound range with Paul having a roughly four-inch height advantage over his adversary.  There are a lot of competitive curiosities with this fight but also a lot of question marks on the business end of things. This fight card will be broadcast on DAZN and is being promoted as a big fight. The intrigue surrounding this YouTube boxing match is relatively low compared to some past bouts within this odd idiom of entertainment.

Jake Paul vs AnEsonGib Tale of the Tape

There are reports of Jake Paul betting his multi-million dollar Team 10 home on this fight. There’s a lot of bravado and performative confidence from Paul to be sure. At the same time though, I think he has the aptitude to be able to best an opponent like this. I think Paul has a similar result in this one as he did in the Deji fight, securing a stoppage inside of five rounds.
