  • Wilder vs Breazeale takes place Saturday, May 18th at 10:00 p.m. ET
  • Can Wilder notch his 40th career knockout?
  • Can Breazeale shock the world and capture the WBC title?

Wilder vs Breazeale will be broadcast on Showtime with a Heavyweight Championship tilt at the top of the marquee. The high stakes prize fight goes at Barclays Center in New York City.

Breazeale’s resume includes qualifying for the 2012 US Olympic Team after winning the trials that year.  Wilder is aiming to defend his WBC belt for the ninth time. This bout is coming on the heels of his hotly discussed draw against Tyson Fury.

Wilder vs Breazeale marks Dominic Breazeale’s second crack at a Heavyweight belt after a failed bid against Anthony Joshua in 2016. We’ve already discussed the fight at length in our Wilder vs Breazeale fight preview, so now it’s time to explore some of the best prop bets available.

Wilder vs Breazeale Method of Victory Odds

Method of Victory Odds
Deontay Wilder by KO, TKO, or DQ -250
Dominic Breazeale by KO, TKO, or DQ +900

Wilder vs Breazeale is an intriguing bout at a pivotal time in heavyweight boxing. With Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua occupying a meaningful place in the division’s upper echelon, the winner of this bout will be among that company. The winner of Wilder vs Breazeale will occupy a rarefied air of elite pugilists in what has been growing into a memorable era for the weight class.

Wilder is the unbeaten WBC belt-holder who possesses a near flawless, 98% KO rate.

Wilder is the unbeaten WBC belt-holder who possesses a near flawless, 98% KO rate. Breazeale has a 90% knockout rate and is a solidly prolific finisher in his own right.

Breazeale is no slouch, but Wilder has unparalleled punching power. The Bronze Bomber is a generation defining KO artist that will go down in the annals of boxing history. I have Wilder scoring yet another huge knockout but I hope he doesn’t “Get me a body” as he regrettably said recently.

Method of Victory Pick: Deontay Wilder by KO, TKO or DQ (-250)

Wilder vs Breazeale Round Betting Odds

Wilder Result Odds Breazeale Result Odds
Round 5 +900 Round 8 +5000
Wilder Round 6 +900 Breazeale Round 9 +5000
Round 7 +900 Round 10 +6600

When Breazeale took that aforementioned loss to Joshua, it was via Round 7 TKO. AJ does not have the kind of borderline surreal, preternatural one punch ability that Wilder brings to the ring. It’s for this reason that I see Deontay finishing him around the midway point of the bout.

The round group betting odds for Wilder rounds 5-7 is +300, and Breazeale for rounds 7-9 is +2800. Based on the prior track records of both men, I can see finishes materializing at the aforementioned points outlined (rounds in bold in the table above). That being said, I think Deontay has a much better chance at securing the finish.

I have Wilder all day in this one. Whether Wilder rematches Fury or fights Joshua next are the only things I’m unsure of.

Round Betting Pick: Wilder, Deontay Round 6 (+900)
