My Notre Dame vs BYU prediction starts with how differently these teams win. The Irish are outscoring opponents 44.0 to 11.0 per game, and quarterback CJ Carr has completed 70.8% of his passes for 1,378 yards and 16 touchdowns. His top target, Jordan Faison, already has 387 receiving yards.

Carr faces a real test, though. BYU allows just 13.4 points, 254.4 total yards and 174.0 passing yards per game.

The Cougars lean on the run. Running back LJ Martin has 344 rushing yards, and quarterback Bear Bachmeier adds 239 more with his legs. That attack runs into an Irish front allowing only 58.3 rushing yards per game, so this matchup in the trenches could decide the night.
