2019 Grammy Awards Odds Favor Childish Gambino’s “This is America”

The 61st Annual Grammy Awards will take place on Feb. 10th, 2019, at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles. While the host is still TBA, the nominations are out as of 6:00 AM ET this morning.
Jay-Z (eight nominations) dominated the 2018 list, but his collaboration with wife Beyonce (a.k.a. The Carters) was snubbed from the big categories this year, as was longtime Grammy-favorite Taylor Swift.
In their place, some new blood, like Janelle Monae, Kacey Musgraves, and Brandi Carlile. Of course, there is also a sprinkling of the old guard, like Kendrick Lamar, who’s won 12 Grammys already and leads the way with eight nominations this year.
Below, our music team sets the opening odds on the “big four” categories: Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and the always divisive Best New Artist.
