Game of Thrones Odds: Who Dies, Who Thrives in Season 8?

There is only six Game of Thrones episodes left and it appears we are headed towards a great war to end all wars.

Or maybe more than one?

First off, SPOILER ALERT! Honestly, if you clicked on this page you already know what’s coming and it’s not just winter. But just in case you took a wrong turn at Albuquerque, we are going to lay down some odds and predictions on the final season of GoT.

You good?

Alright, Season 8 is, unfortunately, two years away. HBO sources have stated that production on the final season may end up taking a while with filming to begin in October of 2017 and continuing into August of 2018. That will no doubt push the abbreviated six-episode final run into 2019.

That said, the new schedule gives us a lot of time to set some odds on what will be in store for the people of the Seven Kingdoms.

Considering this is the final season, you can expect a lot of death. I mean, there will probably be the war with those pesky White Walkers who now have Viserion the Dragon zombie who we last saw huff and puff and blow the wall down. Those blue-eyed frozen freaks are now moving south to kick some ass and they will most likely end up at the gates of Winterfell only to be met by Jon Snow, Daenerys, Jaime Lannister, dragons and a big army.

What happens at that point? Who knows. But there has been a ton of speculation. There will clearly be a showdown between the living and the dead possibly including a Jon Snow vs. The Night King brouhaha. However, will this showdown take the entire six episodes? There is a good chance that this battle will end sooner than we think.

It seems reasonable we will go from one battle to the next.

You can count on Cersei Lannister to sweep in and attack when Daenerys’ army, and anyone who is aligned with her, are at their most vulnerable and battle weary.

Regardless of how this plays out, there are no more subplots left so it will be one singular plot line which will end in a lot of bloodshed and broken hearts.

So who will die in season eight? What are the odds that we will finally see the much ballyhooed Cleganebowl? What about a dragon showdown between Viserion and Drogon? Is Bran really the Night King puppet master?

Like we did with season six and seven, we provide the odds on possible storyline directions, and discuss who will finally meet their maker.

Game of Thrones Death Pool Odds

The odds below are each character’s chances of being offed in Season 8. Obviously, there will be a lot of minor character death because the Army of the Dead will need some fodder to kill. Oh and yes, I have Jon Snow high on the list because let’s be honest for a second, do you really think we are going to get a happy ending?

However, I do agree with the theories out there that the Stark kidlets will survive along with Dany and Tyrion. I mean, who knows, show creators Martin, Benioff, and Weiss might decide that everyone dies and that’s that, and they move onto the prequels.

No matter how this show ends, there will be people who will complain. That is the safest bet you can make.
