Dancing with the Stars 35 will have a two-night premiere extravaganza on Tuesday, Sept. 15 and Wednesday, Sept. 16 on ABC and Disney+. It will be hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough. The judges are Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli. Prior to the premiere, the celebrity cast will be revealed on Good Morning America.

DWTS is an ingrained part of the cultural zeitgeist with “stars” generally coming from a cast of recognizable names from the past or who are, if not outright famous themselves, famous by association.

Still, fans are devoted to it, and it can be a springboard for the participants to have a second (or third, or fourth) act in their chosen vocation.

Prediction markets are paying attention to the pending announcement as well, giving users the chance to jump in and pick who will be featured as contestants.

Trading volume has surged past $120K and continues to rise.

Some prospective contestants are in the mid-to-upper 90% range to take part. That includes Taylor Hanson (from the eponymous band of the late-1990s); Olympic figure skater Amber Glenn; Glee and Gray’s Anatomy actor Harry Shum Jr.; Food Network star and cookbook author Giada De Laurentiis; and actress and dancer Jenna Dewan.

Then some interesting and, according to their percentages, unlikely candidates pop up. That includes rappers Bow Wow and Flavor Flav; Donna Kelce (Travis and Jason Kelce’s mom and Taylor Swift’s mother-in-law); former Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski; ex-NSYNC member Lance Bass; and former LSU gymnast, influencer, and Baywatch reboot cast member Livvy Dunne.

All are in the low-to-mid single digits.

For those who want to jump into the fray, the Kalshi referral code offers new users a $25 bonus once $25 in trades are completed.

The rules stipulate that if the selected candidate is officially announced as a performer and an official contestant in Dancing with the Stars Season 35 before Oct. 1, 2026, the market will resolve to Yes.

The outcome will be verified by The Hollywood Reporter, ABC, Entertainment Weekly, the New York Times, BBC, Deadline, Reuters, and the Associated Press.

Taylor Hanson

Whether Gen X admits it or not, it was unconsciously boppin’ along to the catchy Hanson tune “MMMBop.”

The middle child of the three members, Taylor’s viral fame might have subsided, but he’s still around. The group was viewed as another boy band with a hook that they were brothers, but that’s not uncommon and is not a tool for ridicule. In later years, he was a member of other bands with respected musicians like James Iha from Smashing Pumpkins.

With Hanson, there have not been the seemingly requisite troubling stories of abuse, drugs, criminal allegations, and other common pitfalls that child stars face. He’s very active in philanthropic endeavors, particularly in his hometown in Tulsa.

It’s a pretty good bet that he’ll take part in DWTS35.

Giada De Laurentiis

Giada is world-famous for her shows on various cooking channels, her cookbooks, and is a known part of pop culture. She has done cameos in live-action films and been a voiceover artist in animated films.

Her family is well-known in the entertainment industry due to her grandfather Dino De Laurentiis having been a big-time film producer.

Presumably, she knows how to dance. Given the high percentage (95%) for her participation, it’s reasonable to expect her to be on the show.

Donna Kelce

The Grand Dame of the Kelce clan will be 74 next month and is well-known due to her prominent presence in the NFL with her two future Pro Football Hall of Fame sons, Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce. She recently became Taylor Swift’s mother-in-law.

While this would be entertaining if she could pull it off, it has too much of a “this could end in disaster” aspect to it, particularly while Travis is playing for the Chiefs, juggling his new marriage, and off-field interests.

This will probably not happen.

Flavor Flav

Yeah, boyeee!

Could Flavor Flav dance with his famous clock around his neck? Would insurance allow it? Or would he need to adapt to a smaller clock or another device, presumably to let him know what time it is?

He’s become a frequent pop-up in unexpected places as comedy relief. While it’s certainly a possibility that he is on DWTS35, his current percentage is actually behind Donna Kelce’s. At 67, he’s still lean and flexible from years of performing and doing dance moves. But this too is unlikely.

Rob Gronkowski

There’s a perception that Gronk is a prototypical football meathead, an image he actively seeks to advance, but is contradicted by understated reality. Nikki Glaser famously referenced Gronk when roasting Tom Brady, mentioning Brady’s apparent crypto losses and mimicking Gronk saying, “Me know that not real money.”

In truth, he’s pushing that narrative for his brand. Bill Belichick does not keep unintelligent players on his rosters, and Gronk has apparently saved his salary as a player and lived off his endorsements. He can break down game plans and plays like a veteran coach.

He’s a former athlete and, despite being enormous in his physical proportions, had a deftness and grace as well as the ability to bull past unfortunate defenders. It’s safe to assume he can dance. While his percentage is in the mid-single digits, for those who want to throw a Hail Mary (so to speak) for DWTS35, this could be a highly profitable one if it hits.
