Manchester United (-154) at Swansea City (+500), Draw (+320)

Manchester United (4-3-3, 15 points) will need to grab a full three points against Swansea City (1-2-7, 5 points) this Sunday (November 6) in order to remain in contention for the Premiership. Even if you believe their Premiership hopes are already long gone, there’s still the Champions League to worry about. Currently sitting in eighth place, United’s qualification for the Champions League is in jeopardy.

It’s been a rocky start for Mourinho’s Red Devils. He was brought in from Chelsea, where he ran the side into the ground in the 2015/16 season, and was given the task of rebuilding the ailing United squad.

Bastian Schweinsteiger was cut, Wayne Rooney was shown the backseat, and Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were added to the squad. The mood was hopeful with a hint of reservation.

But things haven’t panned out as planned after ten games. Ibrahimovic, who started the season with so much promise, has not scored a goal in his last five appearances despite having taken forty-two shots. Pogba has shown glimmers of his potential but he is still finding his footing within the United squad.

United drew their last Premier League match against Burnley FC (0-0) despite dominating for the entire ninety minutes. And they lost the game before that, a humiliating defeat against Chelsea (4-0). The loss has rightly cast doubt on Mourinho’s ability as a manager.

The squad hasn’t been a complete failure this season. Earlier last week, they eliminated Manchester City (1-0) in the EFL cup and advanced to the quarterfinals.

With a bit of luck and some reshuffling, the Red Devils could be right back on track. Marcus Rashford has been spectacular every time he’s played but for some reason isn’t seeing much game time. Perhaps that’s going to change.

Swansea sit in nineteenth place, above only Sunderland and comfortably in the relegation zone. In their last six games, they’ve only managed a single point, losing five and drawing once (0-0 against Watford). Last week, they were dismantled in a 3-1 loss to a middling Stoke City side.

Against Swansea, United will have plenty of opportunities in front of goal. Now they just need to convert.

Pick: Manchester United (-154)
