The BLAST Premier Global Finals is the last event to cap off a four-event series. With an overall prize pool of $1,000,000 up for grabs, BLAST Premier lives on to be one of the most sought after titles in professional CS:GO. You will be able to stream the event at the official BLAST Premier Twitch.

With the number of roster changes that took place in the off-season, there are many questions left to be answered. Will this tournament be the answer to those questions? There are a few to consider when considering your odds before putting down your money.

Should Astralis Be Favored?

With the sportsbooks giving Astralis only +120 to win the entire event, it seems they are more than confident a win is imminent. While I do understand their enthusiasm, I think the overall odds do not carry much value. Their side of the bracket is by far the easiest, with the only opponent realistically standing in their way of a free trip to the semi-finals being G2 Esports.

Just beyond that is the possibility of facing either Vitality or Natus Vincere in the semi-finals. In the likelihood Astralis makes it to the Grand Finals, the odds you will get on the day of the match if against Vitality, or Natus Vincere, will not be that far off from the future odds.

Is it worth wrapping up your money for five matches?

Vitality or Natus Vincere?

The overall storyline of this event will help answer the question majority of CS:GO fans have been asking. Who is the true best player in the world? Vitality and Natus Vincere are destined to match up in the upper semi-finals given the seeding.

With Vitality winning the past five maps in a row between the two teams, there is a likelihood that Navi will have to fight their way through the lower bracket to reach the finals. While it’s not impossible, I do not think their map pool overall is strong enough to win against Vitality or Astralis at the moment. Nuke is the most consistent map for Navi but outside of Nuke, they have been wildly inconsistent lately.

With the addition of Nivera, Vitality has emerged as a true contender for the best team in the world. Giving Vitality players the option to alternate out of their non-preferred maps has allowed a great overall improvement to their map pool. Nivera has completely revamped their struggling Inferno play.

They are currently 9-1 overall in their last 10 inferno maps since adding Nivera. Six of those maps keeping their opponents to nine rounds or less in total. This map was needed to be able to compete in the map pool against Astralis, and that is why I believe they are currently the better team. With the recent results between Astralis and Vitality, I don’t believe there is any reason to favor one team over the other.

G2 Esports Hold Value

One line that jumped out to me was G2 Esports at +1400. One thing that is undeniable when it comes to this team is their passion. NiKo is one of the most competitively driven players in the pro scene and has a huge chip on his shoulder. With Nexa at the helm and his cousin by his side, this player break might be exactly what this team needed to spark their struggling map pool.

I think G2 has a strong possibility to make it to the consolidation finals. At that point, you will have an opportunity to hedge your 14-1 bet to lock in a profit or let it ride.

Best Bet: G2 Esports +1400
