Cubs vs Brewers Probable Pitchers

Marcus Stroman (9-6, 2.76) is scheduled to start for the Cubs against Freddy Peralta (5-7, 4.67). Stroman will be pitching on four days of rest and Peralta on five.

Stroman has lost his last two starts with an 8.00 ERA. Against the Cleveland Guardians last Saturday in Chicago, Stroman pitched 5.2 innings and allowed five runs, five hits and two walks while striking out seven.

Stroman will be facing the Brewers for the seventh time in his career. He has a 3-1 record and 2.01 ERA against them.

In nine starts on the road this season, Stroman is 4-2 with a 2.70 ERA. He is 4-4 with a 3.27 ERA in eight starts in the day. Stroman, who has NL Cy Young odds of +2000, has registered 14 quality starts in 18 outings, but the Cubs are 10-8 when he pitches.

Peralta has eight quality starts in 16 outings this season and the Brewers are 7-9 when he takes the mound. Peralta has made nine starts both at home and in the day this season, going 4-3 with a 3.75 ERA at American Family Field and 4-4 with a 4.06 ERA in day games.

Cubs right fielder Seiya Suzuki is 2 for 6 with a home run off Peralta while left fielder Ian Happ is just 1 for 19 (.053) with nine strikeouts. Christian Yelich, Anderson and Andruw Monasterio had two hits apiece for the Brewers. Adames homered.

The Brewers made a slew of roster moves before the game, including activating Anderson from the paternity list and placing first baseman Rowdy Tellez (right forearm inflammation) on the injured list. The bullpen was also shuffled as right-handers J.C. Mejia and Tyson Miller were called up from Triple-A Nashville and left-hander Clayton Andrews and right-hander J.B. Bukauskas were sent to the same club.
