After escaping Cincinnati with a lone win, the Los Angeles Dodgers (36-27, 16-17 away) now have to contend with one of the hottest teams in baseball, when they kick off a three-game set with the Philadelphia Phillies (30-32, 17-10 home).
While LA avoided a sweep behind a solid Clayton Kershaw performance to beat the Reds 6-0, Philly walked it off in the ninth to down the Detroit Tigers 3-2, earning their fifth straight win.
To make it six straight, they’ll have to do something they’ve yet to accomplish this season: beat LA. The Dodgers swept them in the start of May, scoring a whopping 36 runs over the three-game set.
