The Tampa Bay Rays (98-64 overall, 55-26 home, 43-38 away) have opened a big lead in Game 6 of the ALCS against Cleveland (3-0 in the 6th inning). If they hold on to win, the Rays will advance to the 2026 World Series where the MLB-best Milwaukee Brewers (103-59 overall, 55-26 home, 48-33 away) await.

A Fall Classic between the Rays and Brewers will be a showdown between baseball’s two most-dominant regular-season teams. Milwaukee earned the No. 1 overall seed across Major League Baseball, captured the NL Central crown, and secured home-field advantage throughout the entire postseason. The Brewers punched their World Series ticket by sweeping their way through a dominant NLCS following a four-game NLDS victory over the San Diego Padres. Meanwhile, the Rays were almost as impressive, sweeping the New York Yankees in the ALDS before coming back from a 2-1 deficit against Cleveland .

Despite Tampa Bay’s 98-win campaign and proven road grit in October, the Brewers enter the Fall Classic as substantial favorites in the World Series odds.

World Series Probable Pitching Matchups (Games 1-3)

  • Game 1 (Friday, Oct. 23 @ MIL): RHP Jacob Misiorowski (16-5, 1.80 ERA) vs RHP Drew Rasmussen (16-5, 2.67 ERA): A marquee duel between two of the game’s most overpowering right-handers. Misiorowski anchored Milwaukee’s rotation all season, leading the National League with a 1.80 ERA and racking up 252 strikeouts in 174.2 innings. Entering Game 1 on full rest, he squares off against Rasmussen, who went 16-5 with a 2.67 regular-season ERA and has been virtually unhittable in October, allowing just three earned runs over three playoff starts.
  • Game 2 (Saturday, Oct. 24 @ MIL): RHP Logan Henderson (11-3, 2.47 ERA) vs RHP Nick Martinez (15-6, 3.10 ERA): Henderson was Milwaukee’s unsung hero this season, logging an 11-3 record with a microscopic 2.47 ERA across 18 starts. He takes the mound against the veteran Martinez, who went 15-6 with a 3.10 ERA in 31 starts while compiling a pristine 2.38 road ERA during the regular season.
  • Game 3 (Monday, Oct. 26 @ TB): RHP Freddy Peralta (10-11, 4.42 ERA) vs LHP Robert Gasser (4-5, 3.98 ERA): In what could be a pivotal swing game, former Brewer Freddy Peralta faces his longtime club after tossing 11.1 postseason innings with a 0.79 ERA, while Milwaukee sends out southpaw Robert Gasser (20 starts, 97 Ks).

Kalshi
Tampa Bay to Win World Series
39%

While the market heavily respects the Brewers at -156 (61¢), backing the Tampa Bay Rays at +156 (39¢ at Kalshi) presents exceptional standalone value on the series futures market.

Tampa Bay matches up well against Milwaukee’s strengths. Tampa Bay’s starting pitching depth – spearheaded by Rasmussen, Martinez, and Peralta – carries an active postseason ERA of 2.15, and is taylor-made to neutralize a high-contact Milwaukee lineup anchored by Jackson Chourio and Brice Turang.

Milwaukee has been idle since sweeping the Dodgers on October 15, resulting in a full seven days of rest before Game 1. Historically, teams coming off an extended layoff against an opponent riding immediate October momentum frequently suffer from timing disruption at the plate. Since the League Championship Series expanded to a best-of-seven format in 1985, 11 teams swept their LCS (4-0) and faced extended layoffs before World Series Game 1. “Sweepers” went onto lose over 80% of Game 1s, with their team batting average plummeting to .203, and getting outscored by nearly four runs per game.

Tampa Bay enters battle-hardened, having played two high-stress, playoff-intensity games over the weekend where their offense caught fire, piling up 14 hits and seven walks over the final two ALCS contests.

On top of that, the Rays have proven to be the ultimate postseason road warriors, winning four true road games this October across Yankee Stadium and Progressive Field and dropping just one. Stealing one of the first two games in Milwaukee flips home-field advantage to Tropicana Field, where Tampa Bay is 5-1 this postseason and outscoring opponents by 16 runs.

While Misiorowski is an elite arm, Tampa Bay holds the deeper, more versatile playoff staff. Rasmussen (1.29 postseason ERA) and Martinez (2.00 postseason ERA) match decently with Milwaukee’s top two starters, and Tampa Bay’s relief corps holds a definitive edge. Kevin Cash’s bullpen – anchored by close Bryan Baker (0.00 ERA in 6.0 IP), Cam Booser (0.00 ERA in 3.0 IP), Tyler Wells (0.00 ERA in 2.2 IP), and Kevin Kelly (0.00 ERA in 2.0 IP) – has allowed just four earned runs over the entire postseason.

At 39¢ at Kalshi (a.k.a. 39% implied win probability), Tampa Bay carries positive-expected value (+EV) .
