  • On Monday, June 12th, the Rockies open up a three game series with the Red Sox at Fenway Park
  • No National League team has a worse away record than the Rockies, who are 11-21 on the road
  • We dish out the Rockies vs Red Sox odds, picks and player props to target

Heading out on a 10 game road trip on the right note, the Colorado Rockies (27-40, 11-21 away) visit Fenway Park for the first time in four years when they take on the Red Sox (33-33, 17-16 home) on Monday, June 12th. First pitch is scheduled at 7:10 pm ET for a game that can be seen on NESN and AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain.

In their last game of a six game homestand prior to flying out to Boston, the Rockies snapped a six game losing streak in dramatic fashion. Down 4-3 to the Padres on Sunday heading into the bottom of the ninth, Ryan McMahon hit a solo shot to tie things up before Nolan Jones walked it off with a homer of his own.

Below, we provide the Rockies vs Red Sox odds, as well as offering up our best bet and prediction. For those looking to target the player prop market, we’ll also supply our favorite picks to focus on.

Rockies vs Red Sox Odds

Team Moneyline Runline Total
Colorado Rockies +220 +1.5 (+105) O 10 (-105)
Boston Red Sox -270 -1.5 (-125) U 10 (-115)

Having just concluded a three game set against the Yankees, the Red Sox are huge -270 moneyline favorites when they welcome the Rockies to town on Monday evening. The total is set at 10 runs, not surprising for a game involving a Boston team that’s amongst the top five in hitting the over.

Forecasts are calling for a pretty evening of baseball with temperatures expected to be around 73 degrees, although the prediction of 64% humidity could make this a bit of a sweaty one.

Colorado vs Boston Probable Pitchers

There will be a side story in this game as Connor Seabold gets the ball for the Rockies and pitches against the only other Major League team he’s played for when he faces the Red Sox.

The 27-year old made six starts over the last two years with Boston, but didn’t have any success, going 0-4 in those contests. he was acquired in January for a minor league player.

Similarly, he’s struggled with Colorado this campaign, but has impressed in his last two outings. In 11 and one-third innings of work over his last two appearances, the righty has given up just three runs and will be motivated to make it three solid starts in a row when he faces the squad that gave up on him.

Seabold vs Paxton Stats

Connor Seabold
VS
James Paxton
1-2 Record 2-1
5.10 ERA 3.81
1.41 WHIP 1.23
.265 OBA .232
2.1 SO/W Ratio 4.0

Having missed the entire 2022 season due to Tommy John surgery and beginning this season on the injured list because of a hamstring injury he suffered during spring training, James Paxton is just happy to finally be healthy and pitching in the big leagues again.

As visitors, Colorado has one of the worst MLB starting lineups so Paxton will look to take advantage in his sixth start of the year. The Rockies are hitting just .221 against lefties on the road this season and average just 3.1 runs per nine innings as visitors against southpaws.

Rockies vs Red Sox Player Prop Picks

Consistently set up as a table setter at the top of the order, things aren’t going too great for Jurickson Profar in his first season with the Rockies, as he’s hitting just .240 with a .322 on base percentage.

He’s particularly struggled on the road batting just .194 away from Coors Field including going hitless in four of his last five games away from home. Bet on his road difficulties to continue against Paxton and pick him to finish under 0.5 hits in the series opener.

For the Red Sox, Alex Verdugo has been exceptional at Fenway this year as opposed to the road. The outfielder is hitting .333 with four of his five long balls coming in Boston. He has 18 extra base hits in 31 games at home, so put some cash on him to finish with over 1.5 total bases.

Rockies vs Red Sox Predictions

At time of publication, no side was bigger chalk in the MLB odds on Monday then the Red Sox. Surely, Colorado’s disastrous road record has something to do with that.

Coming off three very competitive games against their oldest rivals at Yankee Stadium, where they won two, we like the Red Sox to roll in this one. Not only is Colorado poor on the road, but they’re even worse against lefthanders and Paxton is coming off two solid performances. Our prediction is Boston wins in a romp.

Pick: Boston Red Sox Run Line -1.5 (-125)
