NBA Injury News – April 26th
- Joel Embiid (shoulder), Tobias Harris, (knee) both questionable for 76ers on Monday, Ben Simmons (illness) out for fifth consecutive game
- Cavs guard Collin Sexton (concussion) out vs. Raptors
- Hawks star Trae Young (ankle) out vs. Detroit
April 26th NBA Projected Starting Lineups
Hawks vs Pistons Projected Lineups
Bogdan Bogdanovic | PG | Cory Joseph |
Kevin Huerter | SG | Josh Jackson |
Solomon Hill | SF | Saddiq Bey |
John Collins | PF | Jerami Grant |
Clint Capela | C | Mason Plumlee |
Atlanta continues to be without star guard Trae Young (ankle) but he shouldn’t be out much longer. Tony Snell and Kris Dunn remain sidelined with ankle injuries as well, while Cam Reddish is still recovering from an Achilles issue.
Pistons guard Rodney McGruder remains out indefinitely (elbow), while Dennis Smith Jr is questionable (knee).
Spurs vs Wizards Projected Lineups
Derrick White | PG | Russell Westbrook |
Dejounte Murray | SG | Raul Neto |
DeMar DeRozan | SF | Bradley Beal |
Keldon Johnson | PF | Anthony Gill |
Jakob Poeltl | C | Alex Len |
Spurs forward Trey Lyles (ankle) is out for Monday’s contest. Rudy Gay is questionable (back). The Wizards are dealing with several injuries. Rui Hachimura (knee) is questionable, while Deni Avdija (ankle) is out for the season.
Lakers vs Magic Projected Lineups
Talen Horton-Tucker | PG | Cole Anthony |
Ben McLemore | SG | Gary Harris |
Kyle Kuzma | SF | Dwayne Bacon |
Anthony Davis | PF | Chuma Okeke |
Andre Drummond | C | Wendell Carter |
LeBron James is expected to return at some point next week, which is huge news for the Lakers. They could be slightly depleted on Monday though. Dennis Schroder is questionable (calf) after picking up a minor injury against the Mavs over the weekend. That could give Talen-Horton Tucker just his fourth start of the season. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (ankle) and Anthony Davis (calf) are probable.
Orlando is without Terrence Ross, James Ennis, Otto Porter, and Michael Carter Williams for this contest.
Thunder vs 76ers Projected Lineups
Theo Maledon | PG | George Hill |
Svi Mykhailiuk | SG | Seth Curry |
Aleksej Pokusevski | SF | Danny Green |
Darius Bazley | PF | Anthony Tolliver |
Moses Brown | C | Mike Scott |
Oklahoma City will be without backcourt duo Lu Dort and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for this game. Dort is resting a sore hip in the second game of a back-to-back, while SGA is dealing with a foot injury.
The Sixers will potentially have a very different-looking starting rotation again. Simmons is out, while Embiid and Harris are questionable. That could see Anthony Tolliver and Mike Scott step into the first unit.
Cavaliers vs Raptors Projected Lineups
Darius Garland | PG | Fred VanVleet |
Isaac Okoro | SG | Kyle Lowry |
Cedi Osman | SF | OG Anunoby |
Kevin Love | PF | Pascal Siakam |
Jarrett Allen | C | Khem Birch |
Taurean Prince and Dylan Windler are both out for the remainder of the season with injuries, while Collin Sexton misses this Raptors matchup with a concussion. Toronto will likely get Rodney Hood back after a week absence (knee). Paul Watson and Chris Boucher are listed as out due to knee injuries.
Suns vs Knicks Projected Lineups
Chris Paul | PG | Elfrid Payton |
Devin Booker | SG | RJ Barrett |
Mikal Bridges | SF | Reggie Bullock |
Cam Johnson | PF | Julius Randle |
Deandre Ayton | C | Nerlens Noel |
The Suns have a relatively clean bill of health for a marquee matchup with the Knicks. Jae Crowder is the only regular player in the rotation who is questionable (ankle). New York is also at close to full strength, with only Alec Burks (COVID-19) and Mitchell Robinson (foot) out.
Bulls vs Heat Projected Lineups
Coby White | PG | Goran Dragic |
Garrett Temple | SG | Duncan Robinson |
Patrick Williams | SF | Jimmy Butler |
Daniel Theis | PF | Trevor Ariza |
Nikola Vucevic | C | Bam Adebayo |
The Bulls continue to feel the absence of Zach LaVine, who is still sidelined due to COVID-19. Troy Brown is also out (ankle). Kendrick Nunn is questionable on Monday (elbow), which could see Goran Dragic start at point guard. Tyler Herro’s status is also in doubt, while Andre Iguodala and Victor Oladipo are out.
Jazz vs Timberwolves Projected Lineups
Mike Conley | PG | Ricky Rubio |
Joe Ingles | SG | Anthony Edwards |
Bojan Bogdanovic | SF | Josh Okogie |
Royce O’Neale | PF | Jaden McDaniels |
Rudy Gobert | C | Karl-Anthony Towns |
Utah is at full health for Monday’s second straight game against Minnesota, with the exception of star guard Donovan Mitchell, who continues to recover from an ankle injury. Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley is also sidelined (hamstring).
Clippers vs Pelicans Projected Lineups
Reggie Jackson | PG | Lonzo Ball |
Terance Mann | SG | Eric Bledsoe |
Paul George | SF | Brandon Ingram |
Patrick Patterson | PF | Zion Williamson |
Ivica Zubac | C | Jaxson Hayes |
The Clippers will roll with a similar starting lineup as their last game. Kawhi Leonard remains out (foot), while Patrick Beverley and Serge Ibaka continue to recover from their respective injuries. Rajon Rondo (wrist) is questionable. Luke Kennard will sit out for a rest day.
Jaxson Hayes could get a rare start at center for the Pels as Steven Adams is listed as questionable with a toe injury. Veteran forward James Johnson’s status is also up in the air for Monday (groin). Josh Hart is out for a few more weeks at the very least with a thumb injury.
Grizzlies vs Nuggets Projected Lineups
Ja Morant | PG | Facundo Campazzo |
Grayson Allen | SG | PJ Dozier |
Dillon Brooks | SF | Michael Porter |
Kyle Anderson | PF | Aaron Gordon |
Jonas Valanciunas | C | Nikola Jokic |
The Grizzlies have no injuries listed for Monday’s showdown with the Nuggets. I’d imagine Jaren Jackson will probably come off the bench again as they ease him back in, but there’s a possibility the big man does start.
For the Nuggets, their backcourt is very shorthanded. With Jamal Murray already out for the season, guards Will Barton and Monte Morris are sidelined as well with hamstring injuries.
Mavericks vs Kings Projected Lineups
Jalen Brunson | PG | Tyrese Haliburton |
JJ Redick | SG | Buddy Hield |
Josh Richardson | SF | Harrison Barnes |
Dorian Finney-Smith | PF | Moe Harkless |
Dwight Powell | C | Richaun Holmes |
The Mavs’ lineup will have a much different feel on Monday, with superstar Luka Doncic (elbow) questionable, along with Kristaps Porzingis, who missed Saturday’s contest against the Lakers. Maxi Kleber and Josh Richardson are also doubtful. Expect JJ Redick to get a start alongside Jalen Brunson in the Dallas backcourt.
De’Aaron Fox continues to battle with his COVID-19 diagnosis and will miss this one for the Kings, while Marvin Bagley is still out indefinitely with a hand injury.
