Game 4 of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Detroit Pistons 2nd Round series goes down tonight in Cleveland. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 PM ET at Rocket Arena, with national broadcast coverage provided by NBC and Peacock.

After grinding out a crucial Game 3 victory, the Cavaliers look to square the series as favorites in the NBA odds, leaning heavily on the elite shot-creation of Donovan Mitchell.

Meanwhile, the Pistons find themselves backed into a corner, desperately needing a heroic performance from Cade Cunningham to flip the momentum of this Round 2 playoff clash.

Below, you’ll find my expert predictions and best for Pistons vs Cavs Game 4, and the analysis behind each selection.

I’m betting Cleveland -3.5 and over 213.5 points in this contest. The Cavaliers’ recent history suggests they are perfectly equipped to cover the number. Cleveland is a blistering 6-1 against the spread as home favorites of 3+ points over their last seven games. Conversely, the Pistons have fallen off a cliff in hostile territory this postseason, going a dismal 1-3 straight up and ATS on the road.

Turning to the game total where the data strongly aligns with the over. The over has hit in six of the Cavaliers’ last seven home games as a favorite. The Pistons share a similar high-scoring trajectory when eating a loss; the over is 6-2 in their last eight games following a defeat. I expect a fast-paced battle that easily eclipses the 213.5-point mark.

When evaluating the numbers from the NBA starting lineups, we see a classic battle of offensive firepower versus defensive grit. The Cavaliers overwhelm opponents with their shot-making efficiency and high-volume perimeter attack, ranking inside the top five in offensive rating (110.6) and field goal percentage (47.2%). The Pistons lean heavily on structural discipline, boasting an elite defensive rating of 101.9 while giving up just 99.8 points per game. They say defense wins championships, which is why Detroit has been getting a lot of love in the NBA Championship odds.

However, the Cavaliers play at a noticeably faster pace (95.8) than the Pistons (94.5). The Cavaliers’ ability to get up and down the court will force the Pistons out of their halfcourt comfort zone and into a transition track meet. In Game 3, Donovan Mitchell lit the lamp with 35 points, while James Harden orchestrated the offense as the primary distributor. The Pistons controlled the glass—averaging 42.3 rebounds in the series compared to the Cavaliers’ 36.7—but could not match the Cavaliers’ blistering 60.0% efficiency on two-point attempts.

For the NBA props market, I am locking in Cade Cunningham to exceed his 26.5-point total. Cunningham poured in 27 points last time out, proving he is entirely capable of filling up the box score in this fast-paced environment. The Pistons desperately need a massive offensive output from their focal point to avoid elimination pressure, and our NBA player prop analyzer is currently showing this wager as a value.
