It’s a jam-packed slate in the NBA on Wednesday, with a total of 11 contests on the docket. There are two huge marquee matchups on hand as well in each conference. In the East, the Miami Heat visit the Boston Celtics as they both continue to battle it out for first place. In the West, the league-best Phoenix Suns visit the slumping Golden State Warriors, who are still without franchise star Stephen Curry.

Elsewhere, the Memphis Grizzlies take on the San Antonio Spurs, while the Dallas Mavericks clash with the Cleveland Cavaliers at the tail-end of a back-to-back.

Booker Continues His Scoring Tear

Devin Booker is playing at an MVP level (and on the fringes of the NBA MVP odds) right now for the Suns, yet he isn’t in the conversation with the likes of Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic. Nevertheless, the guard has been lighting up the stat sheet over the last week and most notably, across his last two outings. On March 24th, Book dropped 49 points on Jokic and the Nuggets then followed it up with a 35-point performance on Sunday against the Sixers.

The most impressive part? Booker is doing most of his damage inside. He’s barely taking three-pointers. Now the over/under is steep here, but the 25-year-old has hit the over in points in two consecutive contests and in three of his last four. Even in the games where he hit the under, Booker posted 27, 28, and 28 across the last week and a half.

He did struggle against the Warriors earlier this season, combining for just 23 points in a couple of appearances. However, Golden State is in poor shape right now, losing three straight and showing little consistency defensively. I really think Booker will have another big night.

  • Pick: Devin Booker Over 28.5 Points (-106)

Davion Mitchell Does it All

Sacramento Kings rookie Davion Mitchell has started just 13 games this season due to the team’s congested backcourt, but after Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield were traded, more opportunities opened up. Lately, the former Baylor standout is getting the chance to play heavy minutes with De’Aaron Fox out due to hand injury, and boy, is Mitchell running with the opportunity.

The shifty guard is averaging 24 points and 8.5 assists in his last four games, dropping 21 points and dishing out nine dimes on Monday night against a very good Miami Heat squad. Mitchell is proving that he has what it takes to start at the NBA level and be an impact player in more ways than one. With Fox sidelined on Wednesday again, it’s another chance for Mitchell to run the offense.

The value here is going to be in points+assists combined. At 29.5, that means he’s hit the over in four outings in a row. Playing a poor Rockets team who are hopeless defensively and struggle to limit ball movement, Mitchell will enjoy another solid performance.

  • Pick: Davion Mitchell Over 29.5 Points+Assists (-122)
