After what felt like a monster regular season with plenty of twists and turns, the playoff dance card is set, and the complete NBA playoff bracket will be solidified once we get the play-in round completed, which start Tuesday.

The road to the NBA Finals run through Milwaukee in the East, and Denver in the West, yet neither the Bucks nor the Nuggets are the top pick in the NBA championship odds in their respective conference.

Let’s run down the odds for each series, and see where there is value on the board.

2023 NBA Playoffs First Round Series Odds

While the Bucks, Celtics, Nuggets and Grizzlies await their First Round opponent, we know that the defending NBA-champion Warriors are the betting favorite from the 6-seed (-290) against the 3rd-seeded Sacramento Kings.

The Suns are also heavy favorites (-600) over the LA Clippers.

In the East, the 76ers are massive -900 favorites to knock off the Brooklyn Nets (+600). Meanwhile, the closest odds are the 4-5 matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers (-200) and New York Knicks (+160).

On Switch For Warriors vs Kings?

The Warriors are the defending champs, but they’re on shaky ground heading into the playoffs. At 11-30, they own the worst road record of the 20 teams in the postseason, and it’s not close.

Golden State is also still trying to get Andrew Wiggins back up to game shape, after he missed the final 24 games of the season dealing with personal matters. The second-best player from GState’s title run a year ago has played in just 37 games on the season.

SacTo may be in the playoffs for the first time in 14 years, but they come with offensive punch. They led in the NBA in scoring at 121 points per game, while shooting 49.5% from the field and 37% from distance (9th).

Golden State was tied for second in scoring (118.5) and are second in 3-point shooting at a 38.3% clip, while attempting an NBA-best 43.1 shots per game (10 more attempts than 2nd-place Boston).

Klay Thompson led the NBA in three-point makes with 301, while Steph Curry and Jordan Poole cracked top-9.

If the Kings can hold home court, this is a nice upset special, to go a long with all the overs you should be hammering game-by-game.

Suns Still Unbeaten With Durant

There were a lot of playoff scenarios in play heading into Sunday, and the LA Clippers caught the worst one, having to face the Phoenix Suns in the opening round.

Phoenix has only had Kevin Durant in the lineup for eight games, but they’ve won all eight, winning by an average of just under 10 points.

The teams split the season series, but there’s not a ton to glean from the games, as Durant wasn’t involved in any game.

Perhaps the biggest issue here is PG-13 still has no timetable to return to action, and LA needs as many live bodies as possible to throw at KD.

That being said, the Clips boast one of the deeper rosters in the playoffs, with two-time Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard healthy and leading bench scorer Norman Powell eating up some offense with George out.

Can the Clips get hot from distance? They are third in the NBA at 38.2% from beyond the arc, and will be going up against a Suns defense that is tied for 11th in three-point D, holding teams to 35.8%.

Brunson, Randle Seek Upset of Upstart Cavs

It’s the closest matchup in the NBA odds, as the 5th-seeded New York Knicks open against the 4-seed Cleveland Cavaliers.

An ankle injury shelved all-star forward Julius Randle for the final five games of the regular season, and it’s likely he could be less than 100% when he does enter the series.

New York has shown they can top the Cavs without him, when they won 130-114 on March 31, powered by a career-high 48 points from Brunson, who also added nine dimes.

Was that an anomaly, or just a glimpse of what Brunson brings in the playoffs? The Cavaliers have the no. 1 defensive rating in the NBA, and they are eighth in offensive rating, despite ranking 25th in scoring at 112.5 points per contest.

Cleveland’s offseason pickup of Donovan Mitchell accelerated the rebuild, and the Cavs have plenty of opportunity ahead of them, but the Knicks do offer good value to pull of an upset.
