- The latest Wizards vs Heat odds are listed below, plus injury news, analysis and a bet to target
When Heat fans, or possibly travelling Wizards fans, bought their Washington vs Miami tickets for Wednesday night, they expected to be treated to a show featuring Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro and Bradley Beal among others. Those fans might want to ask for a refund.
That’s because there’s a chance none of those three players are on the court on Wednesday night. Butler has already been ruled out, while Herro and Beal are just two of the many names with a questionable tag heading into this contest.
Amidst all the injury news, online sportsbooks are slightly more bullish on the Heat in the NBA odds. Miami has been pegged as the chalk for this matchup, but the line is moving away from them.

Miami Heat Betting Analysis
Here’s what we know so far about the Heat injury situation. Leading scorer Butler will miss his fourth straight game with a knee injury. There’s a chance that second leading scorer Tyler Herro returns after an eight game absence due to an ankle injury, while Dewayne Dedmon, Max Strus, and Gabe Vincent all sport questionable tags.
Tyler Herro says he will return “soon.” Doesn’t want to deal with ankle issues for the rest of the year; hence, his waiting.
Tomorrow? “Hopefully,” he said.

To make matters worse, third leading scorer and top rebounder Bam Adebayo also popped up on the injury report. He’s listed as probable with a knee bruise, and his absence would be devastating given Kristaps Porzingis’ presence on the other side.
Also ruled out for Wednesday’s game are Duncan Robinson, Victor Oladipo, Omer Yurtseven and Udonis Haslem.
Given all the injures they’ve suffered, it’s no surprise that Miami has struggled lately. They’ve dropped four straight overall, and six of their last nine.
Last year’s East Finals runner-up sits 12th in the the conference, and is fading fast in the NBA Championship odds.
Washington Wizards Betting Analysis
As or the Wizards injury outlook, Beal is questionable after leaving Sunday’s win with a knee bruise. It wasn’t thought to be serious initially, but it’s a little more murky now after he missed practice on Tuesday.
Beal just returned from a five-game absence due to health and safety protocols, and was fresh off a 26-point, five assist, five steal effort versus Charlotte. He poured in 27 when the Wizards beat the Heat 107-106 in OT on Friday, and leads the team with 23 points per game.
After he took a knee to the quad late in Sunday's win over the Hornets, Bradley Beal did not practice today and is questionable to play Wednesday in Miami, Wizards coach Wes Unseld Jr. said.

Aside from Beal, Monte Morris (ankle) and Rui Hachimura (ankle) are also questionable, while Delon Wright (hamstring) has already been ruled out.
The Wizards have posted back-to-back wins coming in, and sit fifth in the East, just half a game back of the fourth place Pacers. Washington has won six of seven overall, and are undervalued in this spot given the laundry list of Miami injuries.
Wizards vs Heat Prediction
The Heat have struggled when healthy this season, so asking them to cover even a small number at home seems like a tall task. Miami has covered just five times all season, which is the second lowest mark in the league. They’re 3-9 ATS this season as a favorite, and 2-8 against the spread at home.
NBA Bottom-5 ATS Teams
Team | ATS Record | Cover % | Total +/- |
---|---|---|---|
Minnesota Timberwolves | 6-11-0 | 35.3% | -4.9 |
LA Lakers | 5-10-0 | 33.3% | -0.8 |
Golden State Warriors | 6-12-0 | 33.3% | -6.5 |
Miami Heat | 5-13-0 | 27.8% | -2.9 |
Dallas Mavericks | 4-11-1 | 26.7% | -2.4 |
Washington on the other hand is peaking, with or without Beal. The team went 4-1 during his five game absence, posting impressive 8+ point victories over Charlotte, Dallas, Utah and Memphis.
The Wizards grade out better in offensive and defensive rating than the Heat, while also posting a better true shooting and effective shooting percentage, along with a better rebounding rate.
Pick: Washington Wizards +1.5 (-110)
