The 2021 NCAA Tournament will conclude Monday night at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, when the Baylor Bears take on the Gonzaga Bulldogs (9pm ET).

The Bears demolished the Houston Cougars 78-59 Saturday to earn their place in this game. Meanwhile the Bulldogs took out UCLA 93-90 on a last second, overtime buzzer beater to reach the finals.

These two schools have met four times since 2006 with Gonzaga winning all four meetings. The last one was on March 23, 2019 when the Bulldogs slaughtered the Bears 83-71. Both teams look to cash their short NCAA Tournament odds and there are more than enough props to consider.

Mitchell Can Score

Davion Mitchell has been the assist guy in the Bears’ lineup but bettors may want to take a look at his points prop for Monday night. Sure, his assist prop is interesting at 6.5 and while he has gone over this number in two of his last four games, it still looks about right where it should be. His points prop on the other hand, looks ripe for the picking. This kid can shoot the rock.

As prop bettors, we want opportunity and Mitchell has plenty. He is highly likely to play 30 plus minutes in this one and he should clear more than 10 shots. Mitchell averaged 14 points per game on the season and has scored in double digits in his last 11 games. If this one is played at a breakneck pace as expected, Mitchell will be in a good position to go over this number.

The Pick: Davion Mitchell Over 13.5 Points (-125)

Baylor Starts Fast

The first half team total on the Baylor Bears came out at 35.5 and within minutes was bet up to 36.5. After watching the Bears go over this number in four of their five tournament games, apparently the 35.5 was just too good to pass up. Even the new number of 36.5 is screaming for a wager on the over.

Baylor scored 45 points in the first half of each of their last two games. Their opponents, Arkansas and Houston, were ranked 11th and 10th in defensive efficiency (adjusted for opponent) according to KenPom. The Bears can clearly score on anyone and they only seem to be getting better.

Against UCLA, Gonzaga’s eighth-ranked defense didn’t look so great when their opponent was making shots. That could be an issue in this one as UCLA seemed to be having the game of their lives, while Baylor is used to knocking down a high percentage of their jumpers.

On the season, only 11 teams in the entire country connected on a higher percentage of their shots from that field than Baylor. No team had a higher three-point percentage than the Bears. If they get left open the way the Bruins did, they have the talent to knock down shots. Given that this one should be played at a very fast pace, especially early in the game, they should go over 40 in the opening half again.

The Pick: Baylor Team Total Over 36.5 -First Half- (-110)
