Chargers vs Chiefs Under 54.5 Points
There’s a clear divide between sharps and squares on tonight’s total. 72% of the over/under bets are on the over, but those wagers represent just 37% of the total handle. The 28% of bets that are backing the under make up a whopping 63% of the money wagered on the total. That means big money bets are on the under, which is a strong indication of sharp money.
Since 2019, the under in Thursday Night Football games has hit 57% of the time 😳
In that time period, there have been 6 games that closed with a total of 53.5 points or higher…

There’s also some historical data that suggests this game could underwhelm offensively. Since 2019 there have been six TNF games with a total north of 53.5, and all six have gone under the number.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire 40+ Rushing Yards
KC is a 4-point favorite in the Chargers vs Chiefs picks, which suggests game script will be in their favor. That should give them more incentive to run the ball, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire looked great in his season debut.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire averaged 7.4 yards from scrimmage per touch (74 yards / 10 touches) in Week 1, 3rd-best among RBs.#ChiefsKingdom pic.twitter.com/daBCLSx0f5

CEH averaged 6.0 yards per carry in Week 1 versus the Cardinals and finished with 74 total yards from scrimmage. His workload would have been much heavier if the game had not been a blowout, so we should feel confident about his volume against a LA team that is much stronger than Arizona.
If there’s a weakness on the Chargers’ defense it’s versus the run, not necessarily due to personnel but more so as the result of their scheme. LA dares opponents to run the ball, which resulted in them yielding the third most rushing yards per game in 2021 (138.9).
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Anytime TD
CEH wasn’t featured in this week’s Chargers vs Chiefs props, but he is a serious TD threat. He was used creatively in the red zone in Week 1 not only on the ground, but in the passing game as well.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire has two touchdowns…through the air, that’s a HUGE development
He also just played on a fourth down, a role that used to belong to Darrel Williams
Lookin’ really good for CEH so far

With so much of the defensive attention on Travis Kelce, and rightfully so, expect CEH to have another large role in scoring position versus LA.
Mike Williams Over 79.5 Receiving Yards
If KC is playing from ahead, that means LA’s pass volume is likely to increase in catch-up mode. With Keenan Allen listed out in the Chargers vs Chiefs injury report, the door is open for a big Mike Williams performance.

MIKE WILLIAMS 21

Williams torched KC the last time he played in Arrowhead, catching seven of his nine targets for 122 yards and two scores. That was one of four 100+ receiving yard games for him last season, while he reached at least 80 yards on seven separate occasions.
Allen averages 10 targets per contest playing with Herbert, and the bulk of those targets aren’t going to go to Josh Palmer or Jalen Guyton in his absence if LA wants to stay competitive.
