It’s time to scan the NFL Week 3 card and pick out a few good candidates to include in our NFL Week 3 parlays and teasers.

Last week we split, winning the teaser, but losing the parlay, as the Bengals once again blew up our parlay ticket looking lifeless in Dallas. That leaves us at 1-3 and -2.17 units on the year for parlays and teasers.

Luckily there is still plenty of time to turn this around. That’s probably the same message Zac Taylor is telling his Cincy team heading into Week 3. Hopefully, they respond, because we’re a sucker for punishment and are going back to the well with the Bengals one more time.

Below we’ve picked out a few teams to include for your NFL Week 3 parlays and teasers this weekend.

NFL Week 3 Parlay Picks

Well here’s hoping the third time is the charm. The Bengals have blown up two straight parlays in this column the past two weeks. Backing them on the road in Week 3 doesn’t feel great, but it is the Jets. Meanwhile, the Colts have looked awful, while the Chiefs are flying. If these two can’t cash an NFL parlay no one can. Bengals vs Jets

  • Pick: Bengals

It’s the 0-2 Bengals against the 1-1 Jets. But really both of these teams should be 0-2. The Jets hung around for a while with the Ravens in Week 1 but went on to lose 24-9. Then in Week 2, they were losing 30-17 with 1:55 left to go in the game. That equated to the Browns having a 99.9-percent chance of winning the game. But then … they didn’t.

In miraculous fashion, the Jets mounted a comeback for the ages and won 31-30. The Browns missed an extra point. The Browns secondary fell asleep and let Corey Davis walk in a touchdown uncovered. Then the Jets recovered an onside kick with 1:22 to go. And Joe Flacco found Garrett Wilson in the endzone with 22 seconds left to complete the comeback. And then Jacoby Brissett was picked off to end the game. That’s a lot of things that needed to go right (or wrong) to get that win.

That momentum may carry over into Week 3. Especially against a team with no momentum. The Bengals made just as many mistakes in Week 1, losing to the Steelers in overtime. Then they looked hopeless in Week 2 against the Cooper Rush-led Cowboys and lost 20-17. They didn’t find the endzone until the fourth quarter. Ja’Marr Chase is calling out the coaching staff and Joe Burrow looks nervous under center as he’s taken the most sacks (13) in the league. But these are still the Super Bowl finalists The Jets just allowed Brissett and the Browns to score 30 points. Surely, surely, this is the Week the Bengals put it together and get their first win.

Chiefs vs Colts

  • Pick: Chiefs

One of the few teams that have looked impressive after two weeks is the Chiefs. They won 44-21 in Arizona and 27-24 at home to the Chargers last Thursday. That gives Patrick Mahomes and co. some extra rest coming into this game against a 0-1-1 Colts team.

Indy tied Houston 20-20 and just got smacked 24-0 in Jacksonville. No one wants to tie. No one wants to tie Houston. But that tie is even worse when you consider the score was 20-3 entering the fourth quarter.

New Colts’ QB Matt Ryan may be just behind Mahomes in passing yards (595-547) but he’s getting them in furious comebacks, overtime, and when his team is way behind and being forced to pass. He has one passing touchdown and top WR option Michael Pittman Jr missed last week and is still questionable on the injury report. Mahomes already has seven passing touchdowns. I’m not sure how the Colts go shot for shot with KC here.

  • NFL Parlay Week 2 picks: Bengals and Chiefs to win (-104); risk 1 unit

NFL Week 3 Teaser Odds

Matchup Pick ( Teaser Odds)
Packers vs Buccaneers Packers +1 (teaser +10)
Rams vs Cardinals Rams -3.5 (teaser +5.5)
49ers vs Broncos 49ers -1.5 (teaser +7.5)
TOTAL ODDS +103

NFL Week 3 Teaser Picks

I just realized I’ve gone with picks on five road teams this week. Road teams have only won 14 of the 33 games played so far. Well, luckily, at least for this NFL teaser, I don’t need these teams to win. I simply need them to not get blown out. At NFL betting sites such as Barstool Sportsbook, you can select from a wide range of NFL teaser options. For this one, I’ve added nine points to these three teams and am still getting some plus-odds.

Packers vs Buccaneers

  • Pick: Packers (+10)

We have a short spread here with the Bucs favored by 1-point at home. Tampa Bay is 2-0 but they have not looked overly impressive in doing so. The defense has been solid. They held Dallas to three points (19-3 win) and New Orleans to ten points (20-10 win). Dak Prescott had no one to pass to in Week 1 and then left the game injured. Jameis Winston was playing with a fractured back in Week 2 and the score was 3-3 entering the fourth quarter. The Bucs scored 20, but 17 of those came in the fourth.

The injuries keep mounting in Tampa with edge rusher Akiem Hicks out on defense. But on offense, it’s a mash unit with seven players listed as questionable as of Friday. That includes RB Leonard Fourtnette and WRs Chris Godwin and Julio Jones. And on top of that WR Mike Evans is suspended.

It’s hard to see the Bucs winning by a large margin right now. And while the Bucs seem to keep losing players, the Packers are getting healthier. They looked bad in a Week 1 loss to the Vikes. But WR Allen Lazard and RT Elgton Jenkins returned in Week 2, the Packers got RB Aaron Jones more involved, and they rolled the Bears on SNF 27-10. Green Bay may or may not pull off the upset for your picks against the spread, but give me ten points and I can’t pass them up as part of this NFL teaser.

Rams vs Cardinals

  • Pick: Rams (+5.5)

It’s a divisional showdown in the NFC West when the 1-1 Rams visit the 1-1 Cardinals. Each team lost and lost badly in Week 1. Then each team won in Week 2. The Rams hung on to win 31-27 against Atlanta after entering the fourth quarter leading 28-10. Meanwhile, the Cardinals won 29-23 in overtime in Vegas. However, they looked dead in the water down 23-7 entering the fourth quarter. They needed Kyler Murray to go all video game mode and pull off the improbable comeback. Those sorts of things don’t happen every week.

They also rarely happen when the Cardinals play the Rams. Los Angeles has owned this opponent in recent years having won 10/11 recent meetings. LA has also scored 30 or more points against the Cardinals in nine of those past 11 games.

Arizona ranks 28th in overall defense, 31st against the pass and 28th against the run. Even if they win again, I don’t see them getting much separation to do so by six or more points.

49ers vs Broncos

  • Pick: 49ers (+7.5)

I like the 49ers in my NFL ATS picks of the week as 1-point favorites. So logic would say that if I can also take them as underdogs I would like them even more. We’ll again be going through that zero but it means we’re getting the 49ers as +7.5 dogs.

Can you really see Nathaniel Hackett coaching anyone to a win of more than a touchdown right now? I most certainly can not. The Broncos have lost 17-16 in Seattle and won 16-9 at home to Houston last week. Ok … I guess that was a touchdown win. But it was against the Texans who put up a measly 234 yards of total offense.

You never want to cheer for injury, but surely there is a contingent of 49ers players, fans and bettors happy to see Jimmy G back under center after Trey Lance suffered a season-ending injury last week. Jimmy G stepped in and lead an instant touchdown drive on the way to a 27-7 win over the Seahawks. The same Seahawks that Denver lost to the week prior.

The Broncos haven’t put up more than 16 points yet and if that continues they won’t be beating San Fran by eight points. 49ers in the NFL teaser at +7.5-points.

  • NFL Teaser Week 3 picks (9 points): Packers +10, Rams +5.5, 49ers +7.5 (+103); risk 1 unit
