  • The Chargers and Texans kick off the NFL Wild Card Weekend on Saturday, January 11th
  • Justin Herbert has thrown for at least two touchdowns in his last four contests
  • Below, see a three-leg +380 Chargers vs Texans same-game parlay for their Wild Card affair

The Los Angeles Chargers (11-6) head to the 10-7 Houston Texans to kick-off the NFL’s Wild Card Weekend. The game will be played at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas with the visiting Chargers searching for their first playoff victory since 2018. Kickoff is slated for 4:30 pm ET/1:30 pm PT and it’s the road squad that’s a 2.5 point favorite in the NFL odds. This weekend’s Chargers vs Texans same-game parlay hinges on a big game from the Chargers’ duo of Justin Herbert and Ladd McConkey.

Chargers vs Texans Same-Game Parlay

Pick Odds
Justin Herbert over 1.5 touchdown passes -105
Ladd McConkey anytime touchdown scorer +140
Texans over 18.5 points -148
LAC vs HOU SGP Odds +380

This three-leg LAC/HOU SGP starts with the over on Justin Herbert’s touchdown pass total, then Ladd McConkey recording a touchdown and finishes with the Texans recording 19 or more points for a +380 payout.

Chargers vs Texans Same-Game Parlay Pick #1: Justin Herbert Over 1.5 Touchdown Passes

After a slower start to the season, where Justin Herbert failed to toss for two or more touchdowns in all but one of his first six outings, the Chargers QB has been locked in since. He’s thrown for two or more TD’s in seven of his last eleven outings, including tossing two or more in four straight duels.

The Texans have been very susceptible to allowing opposing quarterbacks to light up their secondary. Houston has surrendered 31 TD strikes, with only the Panthers (35) and Falcons (34) allowing more. This should dovetail perfectly with Herbert continuing his hot streak to throw for a pair of TD’s.

Chargers vs Texans SGP Pick #2: Ladd McConkey Anytime Touchdown Scorer

If we are going with Herbert to have a big day through the air, it would make sense to pair one of his passing targets up to catch one his touchdown passes. Enter Ladd McConkey, who led the team with 1,149 receiving yards as a rookie, and was second on the squad with seven touchdowns.

McConkey has found the end zone three times in his last four outings, and as noted in the first part of this parlay, the Texans’ surrender TD’s very often, allowing for a potential big game for McConkey. His anytime TD scorer odds are longer than the top-two players on the board, giving a little bit more value to this SGP.

Chargers vs Texans SGP Pick #3: Houston Texans’ Points

The Chargers defense has been the stingiest in the league, allowing just 17.7 points, best in the NFL. With that said, I don’t love a lot of Texans’ player props to hit the over. However, I don’t like committing to picking an under for a Texans’ player, because this SGP would be essentially completely slanted to Los Angeles winning – something they haven’t done often in the last decade, with just postseason victory.

Houston has topped 19 points in 14 of their 17 games this season. After holding opponents to under 19 points in eight of their first nine contests, LA has slipped a little bit since, giving up 19+ points in six of their last eight games.

Add it all up, and hitting on a +380 SGP would be a very nice start to wagering on the six Wild Card games Saturday through Monday.
