Another week, and it appears the Kansas City Chiefs’ perch as NFL Championship betting favorites remain intact.

Pat Mahomes tossing for five majors in an evisceration of the Eagles sets the order back to normal.

Cardinals Official

What a statement game in a battle of unbeatens. Hardly given credit for their 3-0 start, Arizona showed they are definite contenders in the NFC West and the Super Bowl, crushing the LA Rams in a 37-20 road win.

Kyler Murray was a maestro all afternoon, extending plays with his legs, moving in the pocket to create throws that the Rams couldn’t account for. He was a sharp 24-for-32 for 268 yards and a pair of TD strikes, while also rushing six times for 39 yards.

The Cardinals also found holes to run for 216 yards against what is considered a stout LA defense. Chase Edmonds had 12 carries for 120 yards, while James Connor had his second straight week with two TD runs.

Defensively, they held Matthew Stafford to 26-for-41 passing, 280 yards and a pair of TDs against one interception. They made a concerted effort to contain Cooper Kupp, holding the league’s top receiver to just five catches for 64 yards.

The Cardinals are among the most impressive leapers this week. From +3100, they’ve vaulted to +1600, alone in eighth in the Super bowl odds. It’s not a bad idea to take a flier on them. While their game is predicated on the work of Murray (perhaps too much), they have looked as good as any team in the NFL so far.

The Rams took a slight hit, dropping from +900 to +1000 odds.

Cowboy Up

Another week, another statement win for the Dallas Cowboys.

Their power-run, precision pass offense took apart the Carolina Panthers in an impressive 36-28 win, knocking the Panthers off the ranks of the unbeatens.

There’s no secret here: Dallas’ formula is championship material. Their running game set the tone again, with the Cowboys churning out 245 yards. Zeke Elliott carried 20 times for 143 yards and a TD to lead the attack. With the Panthers’ top-ranked defense preoccupied with the run, Dak Prescott found plenty of holes to throw for four TD passes. He attempted just 22 throws for 185 yards — the third straight game he’s attempted 27 passes or less.

Defensively, the Cowboys again recorded two interceptions — the fourth straight game they’ve created at least two turnovers. The pass rush got home to Sam Darnold, sacking the Panthers’ pivot five times.

A +2800 pick to win the Super Bowl entering Week 4, the Cowboys have shortened significantly, to +1900. They’re a nice outside bet if you’re looking.

Conversely, the Panthers’ first loss of the year and oddsmakers believe they’ve got them right where they’re pegged to be. Carolina drops from +5500 to +6000 odds.

Notable Fallers

The Tennessee Titans may have been down their top two receivers, but still, losing to the Jets won’t inspire any confidence. A 27-24 OT loss, where they missed a FG which would have likely ended the game in a tie, spoiled another workmanlike effort by Derrick Henry, who carried for 33 times for 157 yards and a score. They tumble from +2400 to +2900 odds.

A Jimmy Garappolo calf injury was an opening into the Trey Lance era. While the rookie did throw a pair of TD passes in the second half, the 49ers dropped their second straight game to fall to 2-2. They fade to +1500 but still present good value at +1700, though they easily have the shakiest QB situation of the teams in that range, which includes Arizona and Dallas.

Other Notable Risers

Since a disappointing opening week loss to the Steelers, the Buffalo Bills have literally stomped out their opposition en route to a 3-1 start. They dominated the Houston Texans in a 40-0 blowout Sunday, in a game that didn’t look particularly difficult. Entering the week at +1000, they’re into triple digits and alone in third, lurking just behind the Chiefs and Buccaneers at +850.

The Baltimore Ravens, meanwhile, handed the Broncos their first loss of the year, and moved to +1200, tied for the sixth-best Super Bowl odds. They share that with the Cleveland Browns, who also jumped from +1300 to +1200, winning a 14-7 slugfest over the Vikings.

Perhaps the team doing the most yo-yos this year, the Seattle Seahawks, have changed course yet again. After tumbling down the odds board for the last two weeks to +2700, Seattle got enough out if its defense to let Russell Wilson figure out a tough San Francisco defense in a 28-21 win.

Wilson threw for 149 yards and a pair of scores, while also running one in from 16 yards.

If their defense can find their way to an average level of defense, the Seahawks are a great value Super Bowl wager at +2500, as Wilson is one of the best QBs in the NFL.
