Jaguars vs Saints SGP Picks: Saints Alternate Spread

New Orleans is 3-3 but only one of those three losses have come by more than seven points (1, 7 and 17). It’s a similar story with their wins coming by 1, 3 and 34 points, so mostly close games.

That comes down to the fact they’re struggling to score, averaging just 18.2 PPG. But their defense has been excellent, ranking sixth in giving up only 16.0 PPG.

In fact, their 26-9 loss to Tampa Bay was the only time the Saints defense has surrendered more than 20 points in their past 14 games. Don’t give up more than 20 points, and even averaging a measly 18 PPG will mean you rarely get blown out.

With the Jags possibly sending out backup CJ Beathard at QB, or a Trevor Lawrence not at 100% on the Jaguars vs Saints injury report with a knee injury, win or lose, I see the Saints keeping this within a touchdown.

Since returning from suspension Alvin Kamara has rushed for 51, 80 and 68 yards. Receiving-wise, he’s caught 13, 3 and 7 catches for 33, 17 and 36 yards.

That gives him combined totals of 84, 97 and 104.

The Jags are actually third in rushing yards allowed per game, so may be able to contain Kamara. However, they give up the third-most receptions (39) to opposing running backs, adding up to the seventh-most receiving yards to running backs.
