The New England Patriots are one of only three teams in the NFL that are still unbeaten this season.

The defending Super Bowl champions, who have yet to lose a game through four weeks of action, are 15-point favourites against the Washington Redskins.

BookMaker has reported some staggering figures on New England’s ATS odds heading into their Week 5 matchup.

Taking a closer look at the Patriots vs. Redskins odds, is New England worth betting on as 15-point favorites in Week 5?

The Patriots are 2-2 ATS this season and have failed to cover each of their last two games despite walking away with victories to remain undefeated.

One of those games was against the winless New York Jets in Week 3 as the Patriots won by 16 points but didn’t cover the spread.

Another piece of sports betting data to consider before placing money on the Pats to cover is that the club is 1-1 ATS on the road this season. After blowing out the Miami Dolphins on the road in Week 2, the Patriots did not cover in a 16-10 win over the Bills in Buffalo last weekend.

When the point spread opened for this game, several sports books had the line as long as 16.5, but those odds dipped slightly leading up to Week 5 kickoff.

The good news for anyone betting on the Patriots to cover is that the Redskins own a 1-3 record and are 0-2 at home against the spread this season.

Defense has been the name of the game for the Patriots, as they enter their matchup against the Redskins allowing the fewest yards per game (243.0) this season. In fact, the Patriots have only allowed 27 points this season and are giving up 6.8 points per game on average.

Redskins Continue to Struggle on Offense

The winless Redskins have had their own problems this season and facing the Pats in Week 5 couldn’t have come at a worse time. Washington ranks  28th overall in offence, averaging 296 total yards per game. Only the Steelers, Bears, Dolphins and Jets are averaging less than the Redskins.

Among other distractions facing the Redskins going into Week 5 are reports that head coach Jay Gruden could be fired sooner, rather than later.

“He is gone, the question is going to be when,” ESPN’s Stephen A Smith said on First Take this week.

A potential blowout against the Patriots may be the final straw for Gruden, who was also accused by Smith for giving up on his team this season.

Head-to-Head Matchup Favors Patriots

The head-to-head matchup between the Patriots and Redskins hasn’t been close over their last three meetings, with New England winning all three games dating back to the 2007 season.

The last time these two teams met in the regular season was 2015 and it was the Pats that won 27-10 while also covering the -14 spread.

The total points for Sunday’s game has been set at 42 with the Over/Under paying out a price of -110. If you’re betting the money line, don’t expect a whole lot of betting value on the Pats, who are the heavy favorites at -1000.

It’s going to be another long day for the Redskins. Take the Pats to cover.
