  • The Buffalo Bills host the New England Patriots on Saturday, January 15, as part of Wild Card Weekend
  • New England has 12 players listed as questionable and one ruled out
  • The Bills do not have any injury designations

It’s a laundry list of potentially injured players for the New England Patriots as they travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills in Wild Card play Saturday.

Last time that these two teams played, New England had several players listed as questionable on the injury report and they all ended up playing.

This week, New England has 12 players listed on the injury report as questionable and one player who has already been ruled out. As of Friday afternoon, there has been no indication that any of the players who are listed as questionable will not suit up for this game.

Let’s explore the availability factor and how this could affect betting line movement as we approach the 8:15pm ET kickoff.

Bills Nearly Full Strength Saturday

The Bills do not have anybody currently listed on their injury report.

The only two players for Buffalo who did not play in their last game, wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (knee) and defensive end Efe Obada (ankle) do not carry any injury designations as of Friday afternoon.

Harris, Folk Questionable

The biggest names to watch on the injury report for New England are Damien Harris and Nick Folk. Folk has been listed as questionable with a nagging knee injury several times this season, but it has yet to prevent him from playing.

That being said, if Folk is unable to go, New England does not have anybody currently listed behind him on their depth chart. Needless to say it would be an extremely precarious situation for the team.

Harris, New England’s starting running back, has also been listed as questionable. However, there is no indication Harris will not be able to play. It would be a huge blow for New England‘s offense if he was out Saturday.

The team would then be forced to rely on rookie Mac Jones to shoulder more of the load.

Jones has played well this season, but he is at his best when he is not under pressure to throw the ball all over the field.

The Patriots defeated the Bills by a final score of 14-10 back in early December, but Jones only threw the ball three times, completing two passes for a total of 19 yards.

Harris, meanwhile, averaged 11.1 yards per carry, rushing 10 times for 111 yards and one touchdown on the ground.

Wynn A Loss on New England O-Line

The only player who has been ruled out of this game is Patriots left tackle Isaiah Wynn. The team announced on Friday afternoon that Wynn, did not practice all week.

This is a big loss for New England, as Wynn plays the crucial left tackle position, protecting Jones’ blindside.

The Patriots have not officially announced who will be starting in place of Wynn. However, according to the team’s depth chart on ESPN, Justin Herron is likely in line to get the starting nod.

The 6-foot-5, 305-pound Herron was drafted in the sixth round (195th overall) in 2020 out of Wake Forest and has started in four games for the Patriots this season.

Patriots vs Bills Line Movement

The Patriots are currently 4.5-point underdogs to the Bills. If Harris is unable to play, the lines could potentially shift towards Buffalo -7, with an accompanying -275 moneyline for the Bills.

Jones is a good young player, but he is simply not quite at the level to put a team on his back and lead them to a playoff victory throwing 30-plus times, which would be required if Harris can’t go.
