Saints vs Rams SGP Picks: Rams Moneyline

New Orleans has looked good in recent weeks … but … that has come at home against the Giants and Panthers where they won 24-6 and 28-6 respectively. That brings them to 7-7 in the NFC South and tied with Tampa Bay for the division lead.

But it was just a few weeks ago this team was spiralling with three straight losses. A look at their 2023 resume and even within those seven wins, only a 38-27 road win in Indy came against a winning team.

The Rams are neither a winning or losing team. They too are 7-7, second in their division, but too far back of the 49ers to win. But they’ve been the more consistent team over the last month or so. They had wins over the Seahawks (17-16), Cardinals (37-14) and Browns (36-19), before losing to the Ravens 37-31 in overtime. But they returned to the win column last week beating the Commanders 28-20.

The Rams’ wins on their resume aren’t a whole lot better, but slightly. Two wins over the 7-7 Seahawks, also a win over the Colts (8-6) and then a win over the 9-5 Browns, giving them four wins over teams .500 or better. I trust them a little more here for my Saints vs Rams picks for tonight.

Saints vs Rams SGP Picks: Chris Olave Receptions

Chris Olave leads the Saints’ receivers by a huge margin in each of targets, receptions and yards and will be a big boost to the New Orleans offense returning from injury tonight.

In 13 games Olave has averaged 5.54 catches, 8.92 targets and 70.62 yards per game.

He missed last week but has finished with four or more catches in 11/13 games and also in each of his past eight games. In seven of those eight games he’s had five or more.

  • Saints vs Rams same game parlay picks: Chris Olave 4+ receptions

Saints vs Rams SGP Picks: Kyren Williams Rushing Yards

Rams’ running back Kyren Williams has rumbled for 152, 114, 88, 143 and 158 yards on the ground in recent weeks. That’s good for an aversge of 131 yards in those games.

The Saints rank 24th in rushing defense and give up an average of 126.4 YPG.

In the past four games, opposing rushers have gone over 100 yards on the Saints three times. It’s also happened in five of their past nine games. If we lower that total to just 75 yards, that’s occured in 7/9 recent games.

Now all of those yards aren’t always coming from one single running back. But, the leading rusher against the Saints has topped 75 or more yards in four of their past seven games. Two games ago, the Panthers almost had two players do so with Chuba Hubbard and Miles Sanders rushing for 87 and 74 yards respectively.

The Rams do employ Royce Freeman in the backfield at times as well, but his usage has severely dropped off in recent weeks with just ten carries across his last three games. So taking Williams to shoulder the bulk of the rushing work in the Saints vs Rams props should be a safe way to go.

  • Saints vs Rams same game parlay picks: Kyren Williams 75+ rushing yards

Saints vs Rams SGP Picks: Lucas Havrisik Field Goals

The Rams own a top three scoring offense over the last four games. And while all of their stars have been finding the endzone of late, the Saints did just hold back-to-back teams out of the endzone and are 13th in opponent touchdown red zone scoring percentage.

Completely shutting down this Rams offense looks unlikely, but they could stall it. And if they do, that may force some field attempts by Rams’ kicker Lucas Havrisik.

He’s 12-16 in field goal kicking this season, has made at least one FG in all seven of his games as well as multiple FGs in each of his past three games. I’m listing Havrisik in this SGP prop pick, but really the pick qualifies if the Rams in general kick at least one field goal, should Havrisik happen to get injured.

  • Saints vs Rams same game parlay picks: Rams over 0.5 field goals

SGP Season Record: 6-16, -7.56 units
