Best Passing Props to Bet for Week 17

1) Jarrett Stidham over 0.5 interceptions (-235); risk 1 unit at DraftKings Sportsbook

The Raiders are 6-9 and on the playoff bubble. But in reality, their chances are faint. Starting quarterback Derek Carr hasn’t been helping the cause with his propensity for turning the ball over in recent weeks. He threw three picks last week in the Raiders’ 13-10 loss to Pittsburgh. That was the fifth game in a row he’s thrown at least one INT. He’s actually thrown nine during those five games. All of that led to the Raiders shutting Carr down for the season. In comes Jarred Stidham, he of only 61 passes in his career which have resulted in two touchdowns and four interceptions.

If there was any team he’d want to avoid in his first start of the season, it would be San Francisco. The 49ers’ defense is first in yards allowed per game and fourth in interceptions, picking off opposing QBs 15 times this season.

2) Aaron Rodgers over 1.5 passing touchdowns (-120); risk 1 unit at DraftKings Sportsbook

The Packers and Vikings got the season rolling with a 23-7 Vikings win in Minnesota in Week 1. It was a sign of where things would go this season, with Minnesota now 12-3 and Green Bay 7-8. It was the only time Green Bay had scored fewer than 21 points against their division rivals in their past seven meetings.

Aaron Rodgers threw zero touchdowns in Week 1, but he went on to throw multiple TDs in six of his next seven games. Prior to the month of December, Rodgers had thrown multiple scores in 9/12 games. He’s cooled off of late throwing just one TD pass in each of his last three games.

But the Vikings’ defense could be the remedy to fix that. They allow the highest average yards per game through the air and have been giving up points by the boatload of late. They’ve allowed 30 or more points in four of their past seven and an average of 30.28 in that stretch.

Best Rushing Props to Bet for Week 17

1) Brian Robinson Jr over 80.5 rushing yards (-115); risk 1 unit DraftKings Sportsbook

The Commanders have question marks at QB between Taylor Heinicke and Carson Wentz. It looks like Wentz has taken over the starting role for now. Where they don’t have a question is at running back.

Brian Robinson Jr has double-digit carries in seven straight games. He’s run the ball over 20 times in three of his past six games. While he rushed for only 58 yards last week against the 49ers, his totals the three weeks prior were 89, 96 and 105. Last week he also faced the league’s stingiest rush defense as San Fran allows a league-low 75 YPG on the ground. Robinson will have a much easier go of it this week against a Browns team that gives up 134.3 YPG on the ground (25th).

2) Rhamondre Stevenson over 100 rushing and receiving yards (-175); risk 1 unit DraftKings Sportsbook

Miami gives up an average of 244.7 yards per game rushing, the fifth-most in the NFL. But they’re also weak in defending running backs in the passing game. They’ve allowed the seventh-most yards (659) to running backs this season.

So let’s play Rhamondre Stevenson in our Dolphins vs Patriots player props. Stevenson has 944 rushing yards to go with 384 (fourth-most on the Pats) in the receiving game as well. He may have only finished with a combined 33 yards last week, but the week prior he exploded for 172 yards on the ground.

Currently the only rush + receiving props available for Stevenson is on the alt lines at DraftKings. We’ll take over 100 yards at -175 odds.

Best Receiving Props to Bet for Week 17

1) Amon-Ra St Brown over 79.5 receiving yards (-125); risk 1 unit at DraftKings Sportsbook

The Bears vs Lions total of 52 is the highest total on the Week 17 card. It makes sense, as Detroit averages 26.1 PPG, and Chicago 20.2. Defensively, these two teams give up the most points in the league. The Bears are 31st, allowing 26.2, while Detroit is 32nd allowing 26.7. Over bettors have cleaned up backing both of these teams as both are 10-5 to the Over in totals betting.

The point is this game looks like it should be a shootout. And if it’s a shoot-out, then surely Amon-Ra St Brown will feature heavily. St Brown has only caught fewer than seven passes (6) once in the past seven weeks. In that stretch, he’s averaged 8.14 catches, 10.43 targets and 93.29 yards.

His receptions props is set at 7.5 though this week, a number he’s only gone over three times in the past 12 games. His yardage total is 79.5 though, a number he’s gone over three times in seven games, while falling four yards shy (76) three other times in those seven games.

2) Travis Kelce over 72.5 receiving yards (-115); risk 1 unit at DraftKings Sportsbook

Despite the Broncos’ being stout defensively for most of the year, the bubble burst last week when they allowed 51 points in a 51-14 loss to the Rams. Rams’ TE Tyler Higbee had a field day going off for nine catches, 94 yards and two scores. As good as the Denver D had been, they haven’t been great against opposing TEs.

They’ve allowed 85 catches for 936 and five scores to the position this year. For context, only two teams (MIA and ARZ) have allowed more catches to TEs. Only three teams (SEA, ARZ and TEN) have allowed more yards.

All this lines up as a perfect spot to play Travis Kelce in our Week 17 NFL player props. Kelce has recorded back-to-back 100-yard games, catching six and ten passes the past two weeks.

Travis Kelce, Nick Chubb. Christian McCaffrey, Austin Ekeler and AJ Dillon are some of the most favored players to score a TD this weekend.

Here’s who I like to find the endzone and why for my Week 9 NFL player props:

  1. Travis Kelce anytime touchdown (-165); risk 1 unit at DraftKings Sportsbook: We’ve already targeted Kelce for receiving yards earlier on in our props, so why not to find the endzone too. Kelce is tied for the league lead in receiving touchdowns with 12 and ten of those have come in the red zone. He actually leads all tight ends in red zone targets, receptions, yards and touchdowns this year.
  2. Justin Jefferson anytime touchdown (-110); risk 1 unit at DraftKings Sportsbook: In a game with a total just under 50 points, the Vikings and Packers game could/should see plenty of points. And that should mean plenty of action for Justin Jefferson. Jefferson saw the joint-most targets in the NFL last week (16) alongside teammate TJ Hockenson. Jefferson has pulled down double-digit catches for over 100 yards (over 200 yards once) in three straight games. He’s scored a TD in back-to-back games and in 4/5 and 6/8 recent games. Also, no receiver has more targets (28), receptions (14) or touchdowns (6) in the red zone than Jefferson this season. In Week 1 versus the Packers, he had 184 yards and a score. In 2021 against the Packers he had 169 yards and two scores in the first meeting. In the second, he had only 58 yards, but Sean Mannion was playing QB for Minnesota.
  3. Christian McCaffrey anytime touchdown (-185); risk 1 unit at DraftKings Sportsbook: Christian McCaffrey has found the endzone in four straight weeks and twice in one of those games, giving him five TDs in his last four games. Twice in the past three games, he’s rushed for over 100 yards. Three of his five recent TDs have come on the ground, while two have come in the passing game. The Raiders allow the most receiving yards to running backs on average at 49.7, which means whether it’s on the ground or through the air, CMC should have plenty of chances to score.
