Week 3 Passing Prop – Kirk Cousins Passing Yards

The Minnesota Vikings may be 0-2 on the season after 20-17 (TB) and 34-28 (PHI) losses, but it’s not been the fault of Kirk Cousins.

Cousins has thrown for over 700 yards, to go with 6 TDs and just 1 INT to start the year. He has the second-most passing yards overall, second-highest passer rating and third-highest completion percentage.

His passing totals were 344 in Week 1 (2 TDs) and 364 in Week 2 (4 TDs).

Now he’s home to the Chargers who give up the highest average of passing yards per game at 333 and the highest passing yards per completion (13.9) in the league. The Vikings don’t run often as it is and this won’t be the opponent to change that strategy against. Cousins to go over his passing yardage prop for our Week 3 NFL player props.

  • NFL Player Prop Picks: Kirk Cousins over 288.5 passing yards (-110); risk 1 unit at Bet365

Week 3 Rushing Prop – Tony Pollard Rushing and Receiving

The Cowboys’ Tony Pollard rushed for 70 and 72 yards in the first two weeks, while adding 12 and 37 yards receiving. That would give him a combined total of 82 and 109 yards.

Arizona allowed Bijan Robinson to combine for 59 rushing and 54 receiving yards in his first NFL game in Week 1, In Week 2  Saquon Barkley rushed for 63 yards and added 29 more receiving. So that’s 113 and 93 rushing and receiving yards to their opponents’ top running backs. The Cards have allowed one rushing TD and two receiving TDs to opposing running backs.

Pollard is Dallas’ clear top running back, but even in the passing game, he’s tied for the second-most targets (11) and is second in both catches and receiving yards to only CeeDee Lamb. Pollard should get plenty of involvement once again in Week 3 and be a good pick for our rushing and receiving props and possibly even for touchdown prop bets.

  • NFL Player Prop Picks: Tony Pollard over 92.5 rushing and receiving yards (-115); risk 1 unit at DraftKings

Week 3 Receiving Prop – Justin Jefferson Receiving Yards

If this were fantasy football, I’d be doing a stack here by pairing together a QB-WR combo from the same team. It’s not fantasy football. but the strategy works the same in picking weekly NFL player props.

If I’m riding with Cousins as my QB in Week 3, it only makes sense that some of his top weapons will have a good game as well. Well, his clear top weapon is Justin Jefferson.

JJ pulled down 9/12 targets for 150 yards in Week 1 and 11/13 for 159 yards in Week 2. Those 25 combined targets are the second-most in the NFL entering Week 3 behind the Rams’ Puka Nucua.

The Vikes have only run the ball 26 times so far so and with their backs against the wall not wanting to fall to 0-3, they’ll likely lean on what works best for them and that’s the passing game.

Tyreek Hill went off for 215 yards (2 TDs) in Week 1 and Treylon Burks had 76 yards on just three catches against the Chargers in Week 2. Jefferson should also end the day with a boatload of stats in a game that looks like a shootout with the highest total of Week 3 at 54 points.

Jefferson has failed to find the endzone this season but he’s likely a good bet in touchdown props this week as well.

  • NFL Player Prop Picks: Justin Jefferson over 101.5 receiving yards (-110); risk 1 unit at Bet365

Week 3 Receiving Prop – Christian Kirk Receiving Yards

The Jaguars are big 8.5-point favorites at home to the Texans in Week 3 so if they pull away from Houston as the odds would say, they should have some players worth targeting for Week 3 player props.

The Jags top two receivers are Christian Kirk and Calvin Ridley. Ridley leads in targets, yards and has scored one touchdown. While Kirk leads the team in catches.

Each has had one big week and one unimpressive week. Ridley was 8/11, 101 yards and a score in Week 1, but followed that up with just 2/8 catches for 32 yards in Week 2.

For Kirk, he was non-existent in Week 1, going 1/3 for nine yards. But last week he exploded for 11/14 catches and 110 yards.

Last week the Texans allowed both Michael Pittman (56 yards) and Will Mallory (49 yards) to finish around the 50-yard mark. And with Jimmie Ward coming off an injury, plus Jalen Pitre questionable and Derek Stingley Jr doubtful in the Texans’ secondary, there should be room for both Kirk and Ridley to pile up some yards. With Kirk coming in hot after Week 2 and having the lower receiving prop total of 58.5 compared to Ridley’s 68.5, we’ll back him in our Week 3 prop picks,

  • NFL Player Prop Picks: Christian Kirk over 58.5 receiving yards (-114); risk 1 unit at FanDuel

Week 3 Touchdown Props – Isiah Pacheco Anytime TD

Let’s break down our top touchdown prop bets for Week 3 here.

Isiah Pachaco hasn’t been called upon to do too much through two weeks of play so far, rushing just 20 times for 93 yards. Still, that accounts for 20/45 overall running plays for the Chiefs. When you take out the 13 rushes by Patrick Mahomes, he’s accounted for 20/32 carries by other skill position players. In fact, take out the WR carries, and he has 20/28 carries by running backs.

The Chiefs are huge 12.5-point favorites over the Bears this week. Nothing about the Bears has looked good so far. One of those things has been their play versus running backs.

While they don’t rank near the bottom in rushing yards allowed (16th), they have allowed two touchdowns on the ground to opposing RBs. When it comes to defending running backs out of the backfield, they’ve also allowed one RB score through the air while allowing the most passing yards to running backs (133) overall.

Pacheco only has 31 receiving yards on 5/6 catches, but this could be the week the Chiefs take advantage of their dual-threat RB. Pacheco was/is dealing with a hamstring injury but he did return to practice this week.

  • NFL Player Prop Picks: Isiah Pacheco anytime touchdown (+140); risk 1 unit at DraftKings
