Pick #1: Nathan MacKinnon Anytime Goalscorer

Colorado superstar Nathan MacKinnon is a great bet to score in Game 6 of the Cup Final. MacKinnon has fired 20 shots on goal over the past three games but only has one goal to show for it. He’s available at +164 in the NHL odds to find the back of the net Sunday.

MacKinnon scored at least three goals in each of his prior playoff series this postseason but only has one goal vs Tampa Bay. Andrei Vasilevskiy’s brilliance has played a role in that, but the Avs have still scored 18 goals on the Lightning goalie so far.

Aside from shot volume, MacKinnon’s player prop value comes from his production in series-clinching games. Over the last three years, MacKinnon has scored five goals in six series-deciding victories. The Avs are favored to win the Stanley Cup on Sunday.

Colorado will need their best players to be their best players if they hope to wrap up the series in Game 6. Given how often MacKinnon is shooting the puck, plus his production in big games, Nate makes for a great anytime goalscorer bet in the NHL odds.

Pick: Nathan MacKinnon Anytime Goalscorer (+164)

Pick #2: Victor Hedman Over 0.5 Points

Tampa Bay defenseman Victor Hedman is sure to be a difference-maker when the Avs and Bolts faceoff in Game 6. Hedman is riding a three-game point streak while leading his team in average ice time in the Stanley Cup Final (25:21).

The Lightning are underdogs in the Stanley Cup odds, which is putting value on Hedman’s NHL player props. Hedman has recorded at least one point in four of five games vs Colorado and is available at -164 to get on the scoresheet again Sunday.

While Hedman has produced at close to a point-per-game rate all playoffs, his production at home is especially notable. The Swedish defenseman has eight points in 11 playoff games at Amalie Arena, including three points vs Colorado on home ice.

Tampa Bay needs another win Sunday to extend their season, which means Hedman isn’t likely to be on the bench very often. Given how often he will see the ice, plus his offensive skill-set, Hedman is a good bet to record at least one point in Game 6.

Pick: Victor Hedman Over 0.5 Points (-164)
