It’s the first Saturday night of the NHL season and there’s plenty to offer bettors in the NHL odds. There are 14 games on the schedule.

The last time the Colorado Avalanche clashed the with the St Louis Blues, they were sweeping them in the opening round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Minnesota Wild didn’t face the Los Angeles Kings in the postseason but they’ll be seeking to maintain their recent dominance over the Kings.

Avs Have Blues’ Number

Not only did the Avalanche sweep the Blues aside in last spring’s playoffs, they did so in emphatic fashion. Colorado won the four games by a combined score of 20-7.

The Avalanche have won nine of their last 11 games against St Louis. That includes five straight wins on home ice at the Pepsi Center.

This is the season opener for St Louis. Colorado opened the season with an impressive 4-2 home-ice victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. Colorado is welcoming back head coach Jared Bednar from the COVID-19 list.

LA Not Wild About Facing Minny

The Wild have won three straight over the Kings. Minnesota has also come away a winner in three of the last four visits the club has made to the Staples Center.

Overall, the Wild have won six of the last eight from LA, although three of those games were decided in overtime. The Kings haven’t won successive games over Minny since 2019-20.

The Wild will be coming into LA off a Friday night game at the Honda Center against the Anaheim Ducks. LA opened by posting a stellar 6-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights.
