  • The day after US Thanksgiving, it’s a packed NHL schedule with 14 games and 28 teams in action
  • Six of those 14 contests are matinee affairs, including the Bruins vs Hurricanes
  • We give you the NHL odds for all of Friday’s games below, plus our picks and predictions

If you got an NFL hangover from US Thanksgiving on Thursday, find a comfortable spot to settle in on Friday, because there’s a ton of NHL action for you to watch and bet on. All but four teams in the league will be on the ice on Black Friday, November 25th.

Nobody has had a better start to this season than the Boston Bruins. With a record of 17-3-0, the Bruins’ average Stanley Cup odds have shortened tremendously since the start of the year to +900, making them a top-three favorite.

They kick off the NHL’s Black Friday action at 1:00 pm ET in what should be a great matchup against another leading Eastern Conference contender, the Carolina Hurricanes. Below you can find the NHL odds for all 14 contests, plus our best bets and picks.

Odds as of November 24th at Caesars Sportsbook.

The Maple Leafs limp into Minnesota with their top three defensemen out of the lineup to face a Wild team that’s coming off a 6-1 victory. It’ll be a matchup between two of the top contenders in the Hart Trophy odds in Auston Matthews and Kirill Kaprizov, although both are off to starts that aren’t quite up to their personal standards.

Interestingly enough, even with a banged-up squad, the Leafs ended the New Jersey Devils’ season-long 13-game winning streak in their last outing. Perhaps the biggest surprise through the first quarter of the season, the Devils are -160 favorites as they look to start a new streak when they visit the Buffalo Sabres.

Hurricanes vs Bruins Prediction

As a hockey fan, this is a matchup you just have to be excited for. Somehow, the Bruins just figure out a way to get wins. A league-leading plus-19, Hampus Lindholm has played some of the best hockey of his career so far and should be in the discussion in the Norris Trophy odds.

Boston has not lost a single game at home so far this year, sporting a perfect 11-0-0 record. Can the Hurricanes end that streak? Carolina took out the Bruins in seven games in the first round of the NHL playoffs last year and my guess is that the Bruins haven’t forgotten and wouldn’t mind exacting a measure of revenge.

The Bruins are the best defensive team in the league, giving up just 2.11 goals per game, while the Hurricanes round out the top 10 in that category.

Carolina is also on a four-game losing skid having just lost 4-0 to the lowly Arizona Coyotes. That was a game where the Hurricanes were huge -350 moneyline favorites.

Expect a terrific, low-scoring contest between two of the top teams in the league, but make sure you bet on the Bruins to continue their winning ways at home and extend that home streak to 12 against a Hurricanes team that just isn’t at their best right now.

Pick: Boston Bruins Moneyline (-160)

Islanders vs Blue Jackets Pick

Is anybody else wondering if Johnny Gaudreau is regretting his decision to sign long-term with the Columbus Blue Jackets? It can’t be the start to the season he envisioned when he made his choice in free agency. The Islanders are likely licking their chops entering this matchup, as they’ve owned the matchup between these teams recently.

Not only are the Islanders the heavy road favorites here, but Columbus has a ton of notable players out. Jakub Voracek, Patrik Laine, Zach Werenski and Jack Roslovic are among the guys that won’t be in action.

The Islanders have won four in a row against the Blue Jackets and are coming off wins against the Oilers and Maple Leafs. Unless they have a Thanksgiving hangover, our best bet and pick here is to ride the trend and pick the Islanders in the NHL odds to continue their winning ways against Columbus in a very comfortable manner.

Pick: New York Islanders Puck Line -1.5 (+130)
