Quinnipiac Takes Advantage Of Easier Road

Quinnipiac plays this style that just exudes confidence. The top seed in the Bridgeport region cruised to 5-0 and 4-1 wins to advance to the Frozen Four SemiFinal. Now, the Bobcats roll into the Frozen Four winning 14 of their last 15 games. Their only loss came in double overtime to Colgate in March.

With a spot in the National Championship at stake, the Bobcats are somehow an underdog for this matchup. Most of that focuses on the firepower of Michigan. However, Quinnipiac is plenty dangerous in their own right. Collin Graf led the Bobcats with 56 points and 20 goals on the season.

Will the extra rest help the Bobcats? They are one of those teams that can play a multitude of styles.

Michigan’s Offense Picked The Right Time To Show Up

Behind a third-period goal, Michigan showed its mettle in their Regional Final against Penn State. The overtime goal was almost inevitable as the Wolverines had several scoring chances in the extra session. Mackie Samoskevich sent the Michigan faithful home happy and the Wolverines into the Frozen Four.

The Wolverines feature one of the most prolific offenses in college hockey. Like number two draft pick, Adam Fantilli leads the way with 64 points (29 goals). Luke Hughes (New Jersey Devils’ fourth pick – 2021) led the defense with 47 points. Now, the aforementioned Samoskevich had 20 goals. Seven Wolverines scored 10+ goals on the season.

Fortunately, with Michigan’s offense rolling, the one question is can the Bobcats slow down the Wolverines on Thursday? Yaniv Perets has been incredible for Quinnipiac with 32 wins and a .932 save percentage. Michigan must be patient like they were versus Penn State.

Quinnipiac vs Michigan Prediction

The Bobcats expect to keep this close with the Wolverines for quite awhile. In the end, it comes down to relentless waves of attack. Michigan carries that special teams’ dynamic which is a notch better than Quinnipiac.

The game expects to see a few more goals scored, but can they get to six or more?

Michigan should be able to win a close affair but expect goals to be at a premium. Scoring chances between the two teams will be high in what should be an exciting nightcap.

Pick: Under 6 Goals (-130)
