- On Thursday it’s Matchday 4 of the 2019 UEFA Europa League
- Rangers and Porto locked in a battle for top two in Group G
- Man Utd going for win number two over Partizan. See odds for our Thursday UEL best bets below
It’s Matchday 4 of the Europa League and, as ever in this particular competition, there will be value to be had for the bettors out there. Unlike the Champions League, this tournament is not dominated by a small group of elite teams and, as such, there is more scope for surprise results.
We’ll take a look at three of the games to see if we can identify some worthwhile bets.
UEL Group G – Rangers vs FC Porto Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total | Odds to Win |
---|---|---|---|---|
Rangers | pk (-103) | +158 | O 2.5 (-117) | +15000 |
FC Porto | pk (-117) | +142 | U 2.5 (-103) | +2500 |
Draw | N/A | +215 | N/A | N/A |
All odds taken on November 4, 2019
Group G is already on a knife-edge, and with second playing third in Glasgow this tie could go a long way to deciding who qualifies for the knockout stages. As the odds show, there is very little to separate these two, not least because the pair drew 1-1 two weeks ago when they met in Portugal, and this is one that will likely be decided by a piece of brilliance or a mistake.

Rangers’ campaign got off to a flyer with a home win over Feyenoord but in their first away game, they came unstuck in Berne against group leaders Young Boys, losing 2-1. Porto, meanwhile, inflicted Young Boys’ only defeat in their opening game with a fine 2-1 win but, like Rangers, suffered defeat in their second game when Feyenoord beat them 2-1, setting them up for the Matchday 3 clash with the Glaswegians in Portugal.
It was the home team who took the initiative and opened the scoring in the 36th-minute through Luis Diaz, but Rangers leveled on the stroke of halftime through Alfredo Morelos.
All of which points to another draw in Glasgow, with so little separating these two teams.
My pick:Â Rangers vs FC Porto to draw (+215)
UEL Group L – Man Utd vs Partizan Belgrade Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total | Odds to Win |
---|---|---|---|---|
Manchester United | -1.0, -1.5 (-105) | -256 | O 2.5 (+103) | +600 |
Partizan Belgrade | +1.0, +1.5 (-115) | +540 | U 2.5 (-123) | +20000 |
Draw | N/A | +310 | N/A | N/A |
It’s been a difficult season for Manchester United and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and realistically this competition offers them their best chance of silverware as they are listed as one of the favorites in the Europe League odds. Two wins and a draw so far suggests this is within their grasp and so they will be desperate not to slip up in a game they are expected to win.
Two weeks ago they won in Belgrade – a 43rd-minute penalty from Anthony Martial was the game’s only goal – and so in front of an Old Trafford crowd, they will expect to win comfortably. Bear in mind, however, they have only scored two goals in the group so far.
United’s opening win over Astana at Old Trafford was earned by a late, single goal from Mason Greenwood and was followed by a goalless draw in Den Haag over AZ. The narrow win in Belgrade gave them control of the group.

With Partizan winning one, drawing one and losing one, they need at least a point at Old Trafford to maintain their charge for top two, but it’s hard to see them winning. However, given United’s struggle in front of goal, this will be no walkover – maybe another 1-0
My pick: Man Utd to win 1-0
UEL Group K – Wolves vs Slovan Bratislava Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total | Odds to Win |
---|---|---|---|---|
Wolverhampton Wanderers | -1.0, -1.5 (-112) | -270 | O 2.5 (-109) | +2000 |
Slovan Bratislava | +1.0, +1.5 (-108) | +500 | U 2.5 (-111) | +50000 |
Draw | N/A | +350 | N/A | N/A |
It’s hard to imagine that two years ago, Wolves were playing in the second tier of English football. It’s now a club transformed – wealthy, well-managed, at home near the top half of the EPL and now on the verge of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Europa League for which they are fifth favorites.
Two wins from their first three Europa League games have set Wolves on course for the next phase of the tournament and a win against Slovan Bratislava will open up a five-point gap between them in second and the Slovakians in third.

Goals haven’t been easy to come by for Wolves in this tournament, but the reward for beating Slovan, who have won one, drawn one and lost one, will act as a massive incentive. I see them going one or two goals better than they did in Bratislava where they won 2-1
My pick: Wolves to win 3-0
