  • The FA Cup Quarterfinals take place this weekend as the final eight sides go to battle while the rest of England sits on an international break
  • Defending champions Arsenal, have already been eliminated from the FA Cup but English giants like Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea could all advance to the semifinals
  • See the odds and our predictions for the FA Cup quarterfinals below

As the 2020/21 football season dwindles down, cup competitions are heating up and bringing us some great fixtures. The FA Cup is arguably the best domestic cup competition in Europe and luckily there are four quarterfinals this weekend played over Saturday and Sunday. The FA Cup takes place in England and host teams from all ten levels of the English football league system. Nonetheless, it usually narrows itself down to Premier League clubs by this time in the tournament.

However, the first FA Cup quarterfinal this weekend features Bournemouth who sit in seventh in the EFL Championship after facing relegation last year. The Cherries are faced with taking on Southampton, just a short drive away on the south coast. Furthermore, in the Northwest, we will see Everton host Manchester City at Goodison Park in what should be a cracking match.

Undoubtedly, nobody favors Sheffield to pull off a result against Chelsea after mutually parting ways with Chris Wilder. Finally, at the KP Stadium, Leicester takes on Manchester United in what should be another even contest. Overall, fans and neutrals combined are in for a great spell of FA Cup quarterfinals this weekend.

Bournemouth vs Southampton Prediction

After starting off their Championship season strong, Bournemouth now sits outside a Promotional Playoff spot in seventh. However, all is not lost as they technically can still lift silverware in the FA Cup this year. The odds might be low, but crazier things have happened. Additionally, their opponents Southampton, have only won two out of their last 12 matches.

The Saints’ defense has been porous and they frankly do not look like the same team that was winning big games at the start of the Premier League season. Meanwhile, Bournemouth has been a mixed bag of late. The Cherries have won three out of their last five including a 3-0 thrashing over Championship leaders, Swansea. Nonetheless, Bournemouth has only won this head-to-head match once in eight tries which leads me to go with Southampton on a great value moneyline.

My Pick: Southampton moneyline (+105)

Everton vs Manchester City Prediction

The next featured FA Cup quarterfinal is between Everton and Manchester City. Not many pundits are favoring Everton to see much out of this contest, given the undeniable form the Citizens are on. With only two losses in their last 42 games across all competitions, this team is back to their utterly dominant ways.

Additionally, Everton last won this head-to-head fixture all the way back in 2017 when Romelu Lukaku was their main goal-scorer. Anything can happen in the FA Cup, which is the magic of the tournament. However, I could see Manchester City opening Everton up like a can of worms and beating them by a handful in this one.

My Pick: Manchester City -1.5 (+100)

Leicester City vs Manchester United Prediction

Lastly, the highlighted match of the FA Cup weekend takes place on Sunday, between Leicester City and Manchester United. The Red Devils have not lost many games this season in any competition. However, their offense has dried up a little bit as of late. In fact, Manchester United has only scored four goals in their last six matches. This statistic is quite unusual for them given their talent on the front line with the likes of Anthony Martial, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.

Nonetheless, Leicester City deserves some respect in this FA Cup tie because they are third in the Premier League for a reason.  The Foxes are a side filled with talent but just cannot seem to get it over the line against the more difficult sides.

Aside from beating Liverpool, just recently they have seen defeat to Slavia Prague and Arsenal. Both of those matches were at the KP Stadium as well, which makes me seriously question their chances against Manchester United on Sunday.

My Pick: Manchester United moneyline (+138)
