Granada and Sevilla have just one loss between them through seven combined matches to begin the season and should put on a show in the opening match of the round on Saturday (7:00 am ET).

Pick 1: Granada vs Sevilla
To analyze Granada-Sevilla’s head to head matchups in recent years is to identify streaks.
Julen Lopetegui’s Sevilla swept the two meetings last season, winning 2-0 at home and 1-0 away, and Los Nervionenses have won three in a row in all competitions against Granada; prior to that, however, El Graná won all three meetings in 2016.

Through the back and forth, trends emerged: The Sevilla wins were typically shutouts, while Granada wins featured three or more goals.
Given Granada’s propensity for goal-filled affairs (avg: 3.5/game) and Sevilla’s attacking talent, the ‘Over’ should be a safe bet — though hedging it with a result for the home team might be the play in Matchday 6’s opening contest.
PICK: O 2.5 (+123) OR Granada – Double Chance (-113)
Pick 2: Getafe vs Barcelona
Getafe (2-1-1) is a cultural phenomenon: Jose Bordalas has constructed a team that is exceedingly difficult to break down — their defense was third-best in La Liga last season — and the Madrid-based club appear poised to once again compete for a European spot after missing out by two points last season.
Barcelona (2-1-0) has been its usual dominant self, for the most part, to begin the season, despite off-field turmoil and rumors of unrest within the squad; a 1-1 draw against a credible Sevilla team is the only mark on the record for Ronald Koeman’s blaugrana.
As solid as Getafe has been dating back to the start of 2019-20, the reality is Bordalas’ team struggles against top opponents — and Barça is no different, holding a 22-3 advantage in head-to-head meetings (with six draws).
Saturday’s visitors have won four straight and eight of nine against Getafe; side with history in this one.
PICK: Barcelona (-136)
Pick 3: Real Betis vs Real Sociedad
Both Real Betis (3-0-2) and Real Sociedad (2-2-1) are off to a decent start, though their additional games played — half the league has played fewer than their five matches — certainly skew league position this early in the season.
This is a matchup that has been dominated by the home team over the past two seasons, with Betis winning the two previous meetings at the Estadio Benito Villamarin by 3-0 (Jan. 2020) and 1-0 (Feb. 2018) scorelines; Sociedad won both contests at its home ground via 2-1 and 3-1 decisions in 2019.

Manuel Pellegrini’s Betis has dropped points against Getafe (0-3) and Real Madrid (2-3), while Sociedad has seen points slip against lesser opponents in Valencia (0-1) and Valladolid (1-1) to start the season.
Back the hosts to earn a result at home.
PICK: Betis DNB (-127)
