And then there were two. The CONCACAF Champions League Final is officially here, with one representative from Liga MX and another from the MLS. Club Leon will welcome LAFC to the Estadio Leon Wednesday for the first leg, with kick-off scheduled for 10 PM ET. Will LAFC take the advantage in leg 1 and be on their way to becoming the second MLS team to win CCL? See our Leon vs LAFC prediction here.

Leon finds themselves at this stage after beating rivals Tigres 4-3 on aggregate earlier this month. Los Angeles meanwhile, comfortably took care of the Philadelphia Union, 4-1 across two legs.

How to Watch Leon vs LAFC

Tonight’s CONCACAF Champions League Final match can be seen on FS1 and fuboTV.

Leon vs LAFC Preview

The hosts are set to play in their first-ever CCL final and certainly showed guts in order to get here. After losing 2-1 in the first leg to Tigres on the road, they returned home and put on a clinic, securing a 3-1 victory and just edging out their rivals on aggregate.

There is no shortage of firepower in the final third for Leon, with eight different players finding the back of the net in the competition. Victor Davila leads the way with three goals, while Angel Mena, Brian Rubio, and Elias Hernandez all have two apiece as well.

However, Leon could come into this fixture a tad rusty. The side was bounced from the Liga MX playoffs on May 7th and hasn’t played since. That could be a factor.

LAFC is off to a fine start in the MLS, currently sitting tied for first with Seattle in the Western Conference with three games in hand. As for the CCL, the Black and Gold have looked rather dominant, scoring 14 times and conceding only three.

Steve Cherundolo’s men had their way with Philly in the semis as Denis Bouanga, Kwadwo Opoku, and Timothy Tillman all netted. The Union got a card in the 59th minute and after that, Los Angeles added two more to their lead. Bouanga is the star of the show in the final third in the tournament, bagging six. Carlos Vela also has three goals.

Leon vs LAFC Projected Lineups & Injuries

Here are tonight’s projected Leon vs LAFC lineups.

Leon Projected Starting XI: Cota; Castillo, Barreiro, Frias, Tesillo; Mena, Ambriz, Romero, Hernandez; Campbell, Davila

Injuries: Ramirez, Rodriguez

LAFC Projected Starting XI: McCarthy; Hollingshead, Duenas, Maldonado, Palacios; Opoku, Sanchez, Cifuentes; Torres, Vela, Bouanga

Injuries: Long, Murillo, Acosta, Chiellini, Leone, Crepeau

Leon just has a couple of injury concerns with David Ramirez and Jose Rodriguez. LA, however, is set to be without numerous players. Aaron Long and Jesus Murillo are questionable to feature. The same can be said for Kellyn Acosta and Giorgio Chiellini. Tony Leone and Maxime Crepeau are long-term absentees, too.

Leon vs LAFC Prediction

I do think LAFC has the advantage due to Leon’s lack of game time over the last few weeks. The visitors should pull this one out on the road at a big price in the Leon vs LAFC odds.

Leon vs LAFC Picks: LAFC +280

While tonight’s CCL Final is going down, so too is MLS league play for Week 16. See our MLS picks from the 12-game card here.
