To conclude Matchday 30 in the Premier League, Wolverhampton and West Ham United will lock horns in the West Midlands on Monday, April 5th, kick-off 3:15 PM EST.
The Hammers will have fond memories of their last meeting with Wolves, burying them 4-0 in London behind Jarrod Bowen’s brace. If the visitors can pull off the league double on Monday against West Ham, it will be the first time they do so since the 1922-1923 season.

Wolves Need a Result
Ever since star striker Raul Jimenez suffered a horrendous head injury at the beginning of the term, it’s been an uphill battle for Wolverhampton. They’ve struggled immensely to score goals without the Mexican, netting just 28 times in 29 appearances in league play.
Currently 14th in the table, there’s a long ways off any shot at a European placing. In fact, Wolves are nine points above the relegation zone which is still quite a bit, but considering where this side was at during this point last season, it’s disappointing.
All the big talking points from the boss' press conference.

Adama Traore has been dead silent in the final third after breaking out in 2019/20 as one of the brightest stars in England’s top flight. The Spain international hasn’t scored or assisted once in 20 matches played.
Pedro Neto has been one of the only positives for Wolves on the attack, leading the side with five goals and five assists. Coming into this West Ham clash, Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are winless in their last four games, suffering a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool prior to the break.

Despite their poor form though, Wolves have enjoyed lots of success on home soil against the Hammers, losing just once in their last eight meetings with them at the Molineux.
A massive key to victory for the hosts will be getting on the scoresheet first. They’re the only team in the Premier League to be unbeaten this term when bagging the first goal. Having scored just once in the last three fixtures, it’s certainly long overdue that Wolves find the back of the net.
West Ham Fighting Hard For Top-Four Finish
David Moyes’ squad has been a breath of fresh air this season and one of the biggest surprises in the Premier League. No one could have predicted they’re not only fighting for a spot in Europe but a spot in the Champions League.
It’s a serious reality for West Ham right now, just two points shy of Chelsea who is in fourth place. After the Blues dropped points to relegation-threatened West Brom on Saturday, this is a wonderful opportunity for the Hammers to move above them with a positive result at Wolves.

Their form has dipped slightly though, winning just once in their last three matches. Round 29 saw them play to 3-3 draw with Arsenal after taking a three-goal lead in the first half. The Hammers were their own worst enemies, scoring two own goals before Alexandre Lacazette equalized late for the visitors.

After a chance to regroup, West Ham should come out firing on Monday, especially after seeing Chelsea drop points. Jesse Lingard continues to be a focal point in the final third after his January loan move from Manchester United, already netting five times and providing two assists in just seven appearances.
Attacking duo Michail Antonio and Tomas Soucek has also been terrific, combining for 16 of the side’s 45 goals this season.
I hope we can try and do the double over them but obviously it’s a really tough game against Wolves. I thought they showed really good signs against Liverpool, so I it’s going to be another tough game for us."

Next weekend they face Leicester City, which is sure to be a tough clash. Just two weeks later, Thomas Tuchel’s Blues visit the London Stadium. With that being said, this Wolves fixture is extremely important in their fight for a top-four finish.
Wolverhampton vs West Ham Key Stats
9-8-12 (14th in PL) | Standing | 14-7-8 (7th in PL) |
28 | Goals Scored | 45 |
38 | Goals Conceded | 35 |
1-2-2 | Record in Last Five Matches | 2-1-2 |
West Ham Will Come Through
There’s way more incentive here for the visitors with their European fate at stake. I do believe they will come out victorious on Monday, allowing them to leapfrog Chelsea in the table.
West Ham have also hit the over in four of their last six matches and with a Wolves backline that’s not the sturdiest, there’s value.
Pick: West Ham +170, Over 2.5 Goals (+138)
