  • The 2019 WNBA season is now past the 10 game mark
  • The Washington Mystics are the top team in the league
  • Who’s the best bet to win the championship?

The Mystics have been on a roll lately. Washington is riding a five-game winning streak and is 9-3 overall. Add in the strong play of Elena Delle Donne, who is averaging 17.2 points per game and shooting a very impressive 46% from the field, and they should have at least one All-Star.

The Mystics also currently have five players averaging double-digit points and eight players averaging over five points a game. But, Washington does have other competition as the Las Vegas Aces are 8-5 and the Connecticut Sun are 9-4. Anyone can win, and the latest WNBA Championship odds reflect that.

Can the Mystics Keep Up Their Pace?

The Washington Mystics have shown in the past five games they are a legitimate championship contender, especially after dismantling the Sun 102-59 just days ago. But, they have a tough challenge tonight against the Aces that could determine who the top contender is.

The Aces and Mystics have played each other once before with Washington winning that one by over 20 points. There is no question Washington is the best team in the WNBA and could very well keep up their current 9-3 pace.

How long their winning streak goes is another question. After playing Las Vegas they start to play the bottom teams where they can rack up more wins. They have a very solid roster, where each player does their role, which is crucial for them to have success.

Who’s the Best Bet?

The Washington Mystics are the best bet. They have a dominant team and have been dominating opposing teams. They are constantly winning by double-digits, and sometimes build up 30-point leads. At +200 there is solid value on them, as they don’t appear on slowing down and should, in my mind, be winning the championship on just a couple of months time.

However, anything can happen (particularly when it comes to injuries) so there is still some value on teams like the Aces who have played Washington tough and have a solid roster.

But, it won’t be enough to overcome the Mystics, who are the early favorites to win the championship for a reason.

Pick: Washington Mystics (+200)
