Australian Open Men’s Singles Odds Movement Timeline

  • January 28 – With all four top seeds still in the Men’s Singles tournament, this is the first chalk semifinals since 2013, back in a time when Novak Djokovic was the #1 seed. Now, the former champ is getting +1300 to win his eleventh title, a slight dip from last round’s +900 as he’s set to face tournament favorite Jannik Sinner (-125) in the semis.
  • January 26 – We’re starting to see some big names fall! In the Fourth Round alone, the Aussie Open lost seeds 9 through 12 (Taylor Fritz, Alexander Bublik, Daniil Medvedev, and Casper Ruud), as well as 19-seed Tommy Paul. The biggest odds shift for surviving players likely belongs to Alex De Minaur, who went from +8000 four days ago to +4000.
  • January 22 – After two rounds there’s been no major odds movement in the men’s draw, though 8-seed Ben Shelton has seen his odds lengthen from +6000 to +8000, thanks to a quarterfinal matchup with World No. 1 Jannik Sinner on the horizon.
  • January 16 – It’s Jannik & Carlos, then everybody else! The closest contender to the top two is former champ Novak Djokovic at +1600, which equates to a mere 5.9% win probability.
  • January 2 – Britain’s Jack Draper has seen his odds shorten immensely since last year. After opening at +5000, Draper is now getting +2000 just two weekends before the tournament.
  • February 14, 2025 – Two weeks removed from his second-consecutive Australian Open title, Jannik Sinner opens at +125 as the favorite to win in 2026. Just behind him are Carlos Alcaraz (+250), Novak Djokovic (+600), and 2025 runner-up Alexander Sverev (+1000).

Australian Open Women’s Singles Odds Movement Timeline

  • January 28 – At -150, Sabalenka is now an odds-on favorite to capture her third win at Melbourne Park. Looking to keep her from a fourth straight finals appearance is the 12-seed Elina Svitolina (+1100), who convincingly defeated #3-seed Coco Gauff in the quarterfinals.
  • January 26 – Some big names are starting to fall in the Women’s Singles draw: neither 7-seed Jasmine Paolini and 16-seed Naomi Osaka survived the Third Round, while #8 Mirra Andreeva and #9 Madison Keys went out in the Fourth. The Top 5 names on the odds table still remain (Sabalenka, Rybakina, Swiatek, Anisimova, and Gauff), but the biggest change in odds after the weekend belongs to Elina Svitolina, who went from +6000 to +2800 on Monday.
  • January 22 – Fifth-seed Elena Rybakina has seen her average shorten from +640 to +600, making her the new second-favorite in the women’s draw.
  • January 16 – Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek are still the big favorites, but a big mover before the start of the tournament is Amanda Anisimova, who’s gone from +1000 at the beginning of the month to +750.
  • January 2 – Madison Keys’ odds to repeat have only grown longer over the past year. After opening it +800, she’s now averaging +1900, with odds as long as +2500.
  • February 14, 2025 – She may not have won in 2025, but bettors are expecting big things from Aryna Sabalenka in 2026. The Belarussian opens at +200 to win in Melbourne, ahead of Iga Swiatek (+400), Coco Gauff (+500), and the ’25 champ Madison Keys (+800).

In 2022, Ashleigh Barty became the first Australian to win the Aussie Open since Chris O’Neil, who won it all in 1978. Despite a drought that spanned 44 years, Australia still owns the most overall titles with 44. Naomi Osaka is the only Japanese player on either the men’s or women’s tours to win the Aussie Open.

Madison Keys’ win in 2025 was the twenty-sixth win all-time by an American player, the nineteenth in the Open Era, and the first by an American since Sofia Kenin’s win in 2020.
