- Salah and Aguero neck and neck
- Aubameyang and Mane waiting to pounce
- The value with Hazard at +3300
It’s fitting that Mo Salah and Sergio Agüero are battling it out for this season’s English Premier League Golden Boot, given that their two teams have been locked, almost all season, in a two-way battle for the Premier League title.
But while these gladiators are slugging it out at the top of the goalscoring table, breathing down their necks are a group of players, all within a few goals of getting their hands on the Golden Boot.
Odds To Win 2019 EPL Golden Boot
Player | Goals as of 04/17/19 | Odds to win Golden Boot |
---|---|---|
Mohamed Salah | 19 | +150 |
Sergio Aguero | 19 | +165 |
Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang | 18 | +500 |
Sadio Mane | 18 | +600 |
Raheem Sterling | 17 | +1000 |
Eden Hazard | 16 | +3300 |
Harry Kane | 17 | +5000 |
Jamie Vardy | 15 | +5000 |
Alexandre Lacazette | 13 | +10000 |
Anthony Martial | 10 | +25000 |
Odds taken April 18.
That Salah and Aguero head the betting is understandable – both have led the charge in their team’s battle for the Premier League title – but the question for bettors is, is their better value elsewhere?
Especially, as shown in the table above, it is so very close.

25 Goals Will Win It
One thing that’s almost certain is that compared to last season when Mo Salah won the trophy with 32 goals – two ahead of the currently injured Harry Kane – this season’s winner won’t need 30+ goals to win it. Around the 25 mark will likely be enough.

It’s curious that just a single goal advantage has given Salah and Aguero a significant edge in the eyes of the bookies, as even down to Hazard – who is only three goals behind on 16 – the field is very much in striking distance.
Aubameyang With Less Pressure
Worth noting too is that while the final few games of the season for Salah, Aguero and Mane will be played out amidst the glare and intensity of the Premier League title race, Arsenal’s Aubameyang will be under rather less pressure.
While the Gunners still have a Champions League place to fight for, they will not be subject to the same pressure and scrutiny as Liverpool and Manchester City.

That could tilt the balance in Aubameyang’s favor and for that reason alone, it’s well worth considering the +500 on offer for the Gabonese international.

Hazard’s Chelsea Finale
Chelsea too are in a similar position – out of the title race but locked in a four-way contest for the two remaining Champions League places – and so it would be foolish to ignore Eden Hazard who may well be in the final few weeks of what has been a glittering Chelsea career. Real Madrid are reportedly preparing a huge bid this summer.
At +3300, this is undoubtedly where the value is, given that Hazard is in form and appears determined to end his Chelsea career in thrilling style.
The downside to this bet is that the Belgian is playing in an average Chelsea side and will likely have to create many of the goals needed for himself. Right now he is their chief goalscorer as well as creator, but ignore him at your peril.

Coming up on the Rails
So, it’s a tricky one that has made for a fascinating sub-plot to the main prize of the Premier League title.
It goes without saying that Aguero and Salah will score again and while a flying Hazard will push the two main protagonists all the way, we have a sneaky feeling that it will be Aubameyang who sneaks up on the rails and pip them both.
Our pick: Aubameyang (+500)
