Greg Rousseau Surges in NFL DPOY Odds – Who’s Defensive Player of the Year Favorite After Week 2?

The NFL Defensive Player of the Year market has crystallized around a trio of favorites, with Will Anderson Jr (Texans), TJ Watt (Steelers), and Aidan Hutchinson (Lions) sitting head-and-shoulders above the second-tier contenders. The dynamic edge rushers have separated themselves from a deep, talented field that features several other elite pass rushers jockeying for position.
There is one player further down the board, though, who has moved from afterthought to legitimate contender after just two weeks: Buffalo’s Greg Rousseau.
Here is a look at the latest NFL Defensive Player of the Year odds.

Notable names further down the board include Myles Garrett (+5000), Jared Verse (+5000), Devon Witherspoon (+5000), Devin Lloyd (+5000), and Derek Stingley Jr (+5000).
Edge rushers dominate the top five spots, but the presence of off-ball linebacker Warner at +2500 and a deep swarm of defensive backs in the +5000 to +6500 range shows multiple positions remain live. Anderson’s +450 price implies an 18.18% probability of winning, ahead of Watt and Hutchinson at +550 (15.38% implied each).
DPOY Risers
Gregory Rousseau (Buffalo Bills) Rousseau is one of the biggest market movers on the board, seeing his odds shorten dramatically from +12500 down to +3500. He is wrecking opposing offenses, leading the NFL outright with 4.0 sacks and 3.0 forced fumbles through two games. Buffalo’s defense has surrendered 31.0 points and 368.0 yards per game, but Rousseau’s individual dominance and the Bills’ 3.50 sacks per game have kept his award candidacy front and center.
Fred Warner (San Francisco 49ers) Warner’s DPOY price tightened from +3500 down to +2500, placing him among the top overall contenders and leading all off-ball linebackers. The veteran linebacker is tied for second in the NFL with 2.0 forced fumbles and serves as the heartbeat of a dominant San Francisco defense allowing just 10.0 points per contest.
DPOY Fallers
Micah Parsons (Green Bay Packers)
Parsons has seen his DPOY price drift significantly, fading from an opening price of +750 all the way out to +8000. Sidelined on the Reserve/PUP list to open the 2026 campaign, Parsons has yet to take the field for Green Bay through two weeks. Missing early-season contests while elite edge rushers across the league accumulate multi-sack performances has caused the market to aggressively push him down the board.
Devin Lloyd (Carolina Panthers)
Despite stuffing the stat sheet, Lloyd’s odds sit at +5000. He shares the league lead with two interceptions, ranks tied for third with 22.0 total tackles, and sits tied for fifth with three passes defensed. However, the market has tempered his chances due to the Panthers’ collective defensive struggles. Carolina’s defense was obliterated for 59 points and 552 total yards in the team’s Week 1 loss to Chicago.
They were much better in Week 2’s 34-3 win over Atlanta, but a stellar outing against a Cooper Rush and Jack Strand didn’t do much for Lloyd’s overall narrative.
Roquan Smith (Baltimore Ravens)
Smith’s price has drifted out to +7500, pushing him to the periphery of the race. He has one interception and is tied for 10th in the league with 19.0 tackles, but has been passed on the leaderboard in disruptive backfield categories.
The Ravens’ defense has been uncharacteristically generous, giving up 23.5 points and 274.5 yards per game while averaging 2.50 sacks and one turnover per contest.
