Buffalo Bills

Founded in 1960 as a charter AFL member, the Buffalo Bills won back-to-back AFL titles in 1964 and 1965. Under Hall of Fame coach Marv Levy and the high-tempo “K-Gun” offense, Buffalo accomplished the unprecedented feat of winning four consecutive AFC Championships (1990โ€“1993). The franchise is immortalized in Canton by legends Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed, and all-time NFL sack leader Bruce Smith. Supported by the fiercely passionate “Bills Mafia,” Buffalo embodies cold-weather grit and deep-rooted football tradition.

Highmark Stadium

Highmark Stadium is situated in Orchard Park, New York, approximately 12 miles south of downtown Buffalo. First opened in 1973, the venerable open-air venue holds a seating capacity of approximately 71,600 spectators. The playing surface features A-Turf Titan artificial turf, designed to handle the heavy wear and moisture typical of upstate New York late in the football calendar.

Weather is arguably the defining competitive factor at Highmark Stadium. Positioned directly in the Lake Erie snowbelt, the venue frequently encounters severe lake-effect snowstorms, sub-freezing temperatures, and swirling, high-velocity winds that sweep off the lake and whip through the open end zones, creating one of the most treacherous kicking and passing environments in the NFL.
