- The PGA Tour heads to Harbour Town for the RBC Heritage from June 18-21st, featuring a loaded field once again
- Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau were opening favorites as of Monday morning
- We’ve narrowed down the golfers with the best chance of emerging victorious and provided the best value bets below
After a largely successful first week that saw the PGA Tour return for the first time since March at the Charles Schwab Challenge, the golfers are headed to Hilton Head, South Carolina for the RBC Heritage.
Usually this event doesn’t garner an incredible field because of its annual slot on the calendar following the Masters, but because of the tour’s new schedule, the top-five players in the world are teeing it up.
This is a golf course where ball striking is at an all-time premium with tight tree-lined fairways often taking driver out of the longest hitters hands, and greens that are the second smallest on tour. Subsequently, the list of past champions indicates an emphasis on accuracy over distance.

McIlroy’s Sunday Struggles Leads to Value This Week
Given that Rory McIlroy had racked up seven straight top five finishes before the tour lockdown, he had very low +850 odds to win the Charles Schwab Challenge last week. He entered the final day just three shots back but a shocking 4-over, 74 had him tumbling down to T-32nd on the board.

Had he posted another top five finish, his odds would’ve been shorter this week, so at +1200, you’re getting decent value on the Ulsterman, who is playing this tournament for just the second time in his career (T-58th in 2009).
He was a pedestrian 58th in putting at Colonial and 36th in approaching the green, hardly stats that inspire a ton of confidence around the tight track at Harbour Town. With a loaded field, lack of history and just an okay performance last week – picking Rory to win for the first time in 2020 might be fool’s gold.

2020 RBC Heritage Best Value Picks
- Dustin Johnson (+4100): Anytime you can get the 20-time tour winner at these odds it’s an auto bet. Three top-tens in five starts around the world this year prior to MC at Colonial. Led the RBC Heritage after 54 holes last year before a surprising stumble on Sunday and was T-16th here in 2018.
- Branden Grace (+4600): The 2016 champ at Harbour Town was just one stroke back entering the Charles Schwab Challenge final round and he won the South African Open earlier this year. T-7th and T-11th at this venue in 2015 and 2017 in addition to that victory in 2016.
- Corey Conners (+8500): Was just three back after 54 holes at Colonial before finishing T-19th. Last year’s Valero Texas Open winner is third in greens in regulation percentage this season and 15th in SG: off the tee which is paramount for success at this track.
- Luke Donald (+14000): Massive deep dive with upside. Though he’s never won the RBC Heritage, Donald has a staggering track record on this course, with five runner-ups and two third place showings. Could get fantastic value on him for either a top-five or top-ten bet. Showed signs of life in his last event at the Honda Classic before settling for T-11th.
