Wyoming Cowboys Betting Analysis

The Cowboys enter play fresh off a 108-59 drubbing of Hastings College. The Broncos dressed only seven players due to COVID, and Wyoming took full advantage of its shorthanded opponent with a historic performance.

Senior guard Drake Jeffries set a school record with 11 three’s, while the Cowboys tied an NCAA record by knocking down 28 triples. They shot 28-of-54 (51.9%) from beyond the arc, while Jeffries splashed 11 of his 17 long range attempts.

Xavier DuSell added 20 points, while Hunter Thompson chipped in 15 for Wyoming in the blowout victory. Incredible three-point shooting efficiency has not been a common theme for the Cowboys this season, as they rank 156th in the nation in that category. Wyoming typically does most of its damage inside the three-point line, as they rank third in the nation in two-point field goal percentage.

They’re a top-14 program in effective field goal percentage, and have been even more impressive at the opposite end of the court.

The Cowboys rank 10th in opponent points per game, fourth in opponent three-point field goal percentage, and first in opponent effective field goal percentage.

Cal St. Fullerton Titans Betting Analysis

CSU Fullerton is coming off a blowout victory of its own, dusting Northern Arizona 73-56. Tray Maddox Jr. led the attack with 14 points, while E.J. Anosike splashed 13, and Dante Maddox Jr. chipped in with 12.

The Titans shot a blistering 50% from the field, which is well above their season average. CSU Fullerton ranks 159th in the country in points per game, and 203rd in effective field goal percentage.

Defensively, they held the Lumberjacks to 36.2% from the field, and 23.8% from three, while forcing 14 turnovers.

Despite the impressive defensive effort, the Titans are typically average at that end of the court at best. They rank 128th in opponent points per game, 225th in opponent effective field goal percentage, and are 282nd at defending the three-point line.

Those type of numbers would be acceptable had they opened with a daunting schedule, but outside of a matchup with #86 Santa Clara, they’ve yet to face another top-100 opponent.

Wyoming vs Cal St. Fullerton Pick

CSU Fullerton has yet to clear 77 points all season, and is averaging just 65.6 points over its past three games. The under has hit in each of their last four contests, failing to clear the total by an average of 15 points.

Wyoming on the other hand, has been been a profitable under team as well. The under is 3-1 in the four contests that have been assigned a total, and they’ve held four of their five opponents below 62 points.

Given the Cowboys lock down defense, and the poor shooting numbers of CSU Fullerton, this matchup profiles as an under candidate as well. Also working in favor of the under is the slow pace at which both offenses operate. Wyoming ranks 288th in average possession length, while the Titans rank 312th.

Pick: Under 141 (-110)
