The Seminoles meanwhile, are off to a strong start as well. Florida State has five wins in six outings so far, but that didn’t stop oddsmakers from making them a heavy underdog.

Purdue Boilermakers Betting Analysis
Four of Purdue’s six victories have come by 25 or more points, with their only two tight contests coming against top-20 opposition. The Boilermakers handed #18 UNC a 9-point loss, and defeated #5 Villanova by 6 points the very next day.

Last time out, they ran over Omaha, blowing out the Mavericks by 37 points. Zach Edey led the way with 20 points in just 16 minutes, while Purdue’s size was too much for Omaha to handle. The Boilermakers outscored the Mavs 48-16 inside, and gobbled up 31 more rebounds.
Trevion Williams finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds in only 21 minutes, while Purdue was lights out from the field. The Boilermakers shot 57.6% from the field, and 53% from three, continuing their incredible shooting performance to start the campaign.

They rank second in points per game, third in field goal percentage, and seventh in three point efficiency. They have a +28.3 average score margin, while also ranking fifth in assists per game, and fifth in total rebounding.
Their defensive numbers don’t jump off the page, but it hasn’t mattered thanks to their offensive efficiency. Purdue ranks 79th in scoring defense, and 50th in opponent effective field goal percentage.
Florida State Seminoles Betting Analysis
After suffering a 16-point loss to #14 Florida in its second game of the season, Florida State has rebounded with four straight victories. Last time out, they snuck by Boston University 81-80, stealing an OT victory thanks to a Matthew Cleveland put-back with 2 seconds remaining.

Cleveland finished with 17 points and 7 boards off the bench, while Caleb Mills also splashed 17. The Seminoles shot 47.6% from the field, and 40% from three, which falls in line with their season averages. Florida State ranks 82nd in points per game, 59th in effective field goal percentage, and 55th in three-point efficiency.
Defensively, the Seminoles allowed the Terries to shoot 48% from the field, but bailed themselves out by blocking four shots, and forcing 19 turnovers. Florida State ranks 25th in defensive efficiency per KenPom, but haven’t faced a top-130 program outside of the Gators.
Their defense will be put to the ultimate test against Purdue, as FSU will be without three key starters.
Florida State vs Purdue Pick
Starting point guard RayQuan Evans is out for personal reasons, while starting 7-foot-2 center Tanor Ngom will miss the game due to a knee injury. To make worse given their opponent, the Seminoles will also be without 7-4 reserve center Naheem McLeod due to an ankle sprain.
Florida State men’s hoops announces it will be without its starting point guard RayQuan Evans (attending brother’s funeral), starting center Tanor Ngom (right knee strain), as well as reserve center Naheem McLeod (ankle sprain), when it faces Purdue on Tuesday night. #FSU #Noles

The missing size is going to be incredibly difficult to overcome against a Boilermakers team that feasts down low. Purdue trots out three players standing 6-10 or taller for big minutes every night, including Edey, who’s 7-4. They’re one of top rebounding teams in the nation, and should get plenty of second chance opportunities versus an FSU team that ranks 220th in defensive rebounding when healthy.
Yes, I know @BoilerBall isn't going up against Duke tonight like we all want, but Florida St. is 1 of 5 programs that has handed Painter multiple losses without him beating them. Therefore, WE OWE THEM!
Who's ready for tonight?!?!

The Boilermakers are 5-1 against the spread this season, and should cruise to an easy win versus the shorthanded Seminoles.
