Everton hosts Arsenal at Goodison Park on Monday, December 6 at 3:15 pm ET in Round 15 of the English Premier League.
Both teams come into this game off the back of disappointing midweek defeats, but it is Everton who suffered the most in being hammered 4-1 at home by Liverpool in the Merseyside derby. Arsenal’s 3-2 defeat at Old Trafford was a much closer affair.
We list the odds, preview Everton vs Arsenal, and offer below the best picks for this EPL Matchday 15 clash.

Merseyside Derby Disappointment
There was a lot of trepidation in the blue half of Merseyside ahead of their derby with Liverpool and every single one of those fears proved well-founded. Rafa Benitez, the new Everton boss who once led Liverpool to European glory, watched on helplessly as his new charges were given a brutal lesson by the Reds who cruised to an easy 4-1 win.
On a humiliating night for the Toffees, the tone was set early on when Jordan Henderson opened the scoring for the Reds. Mo Salah added two more and Diogo Jota a fourth, with Demarai Gray’s reply for Everton just prior proving no more than a consolation. The result meant that Benitez’s men have now gone eight without a win and have dropped to 14th in the table. Defeat against Arsenal could see them plunge even closer to the drop zone.
"Dominic Calvert-Lewin is getting better, he's doing really well, but he's still a couple of weeks [away], minimum. We have to be careful."

Everton in Freefall
So poor has Everton’s form been of late, they appear to be in freefall – losing six of their last eight EPL games – and in their last three defeats, they have conceded eight and scored just once. For a club that has been funded to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars by its British-Iranian owner, Farhad Moshiri, these are very worrying times.

Part of their problems has been the lack of a regular goalscorer and, in particular, the absence of England international, Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s has proved very costly. Another defeat here would add further fuel to the Goodison Park fire.

On a Knife Edge at Old Trafford
Arsenal’s midweek defeat at Old Trafford hung on a knife-edge for most of the evening and was a game that could have gone either way. Even in defeat, the Gunners came away with a lot of credit from a night that ended up being the Cristiano Ronaldo show. Two goals from the Portuguese superstar, plus an opener from his countryman, Bruno Fernandes were enough to see the Red Devils edge past Arsenal, for whom Emile Smith Rowe and Martin Odegaard were on the scoresheet.
Full time at Old Trafford.

It was a result that ended the Gunners’ proud six-game unbeaten league run against United, and the loss saw them miss out on the chance of leapfrogging West Ham in the table to move into the top four. As things stand, Arsenal is still in fifth-place, but the gap has now opened up to four points after the Hammers’ surprise win over Chelsea.
Good Recent Record for Toffees vs Gunners
Mikel Arteta’s men will be hoping to cash in on Everton’s woes as defeat would mean they will have lost three on the bounce on the road after losing to Liverpool at Anfield last month prior to the United defeat. In between those two losses, they were 2-0 victors over Newcastle at the Emirates.
What Arsenal does need to overcome, however, is some poor recent form against the Toffees, with the Merseysiders winning both games last season – 2-1 at Goodison Park and 1-0 at the Emirates – and emerging victorious from four of their last five EPL meetings.

Everton vs Arsenal Prediction
The pressure on Benitez will be huge on Monday, especially if Arsenal takes the lead. The powder keg that is currently Goodison Park will explode if things start badly and could make for a very tough night for the Evertonians. As such, Arteta, himself a former Everton player, will demand a fast start from his men.
But Everton has plenty to prove, both to their owner and their fans, and even without DCL they have enough quality in their squad to test Arsenal. The flip side of the above is that Goodison Park will respond to an early goal for the Toffees, and with Gray being a rare bright spot for them it is a possibility. For that reason, for me, there is value here in the home win.
