Odds as of April 16 at Barstool Sportsbook
The bookies have PSG down as massive favorites in the Ligue 1 odds at -278, which comes with a 69% implied probability of a win, compared to Marseille’s +600 with an implied probability of just 14%. Unsurprisingly, the draw also offers a very good return at +430, with an implied probability of just 17%.

PSG vs Marseille Prediction
PSG is bursting full of goals right now and after hitting Lorient for five on Matchday 30, they followed it up last week with a thumping 6-1 away win over 17th-placed Clermont. Even more concerning for Marseille is that their famed front three – Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Lionel Messi – have clicked and are starting, almost for the first time, to rip teams apart.
While it has been a generally underwhelming campaign for Messi, certainly in front of goal, his creative side is starting to shine through and against Clermont, he registered three assists in a game for the second time in his Ligue 1 career.

Pochettino Still Under Pressure
The holy grail of the Champions League has again eluded PSG, something that won’t have been lost on the club’s Qatari owners, but manager Mauricio Pochettino can at least go some way to justifying their enormous investment in the club by getting the title sewn up with the minimum of fuss.
Defeat at home to their great rivals would be unthinkable and, despite being champions-elect, would heap more pressure on Pochettino.

Marseille on the March
It has been a good week for Marseille who secured their place in the last four of the new Europa Conference League with a 1-0 win over PAOK in Greece. With a 2-1 lead already in the bag from the first leg, Dimitri Payet’s 14th goal of the season ensured a safe, trouble-free passage through to the semifinal where they will play the Feyenoord from the Eredivisie.
The win over PAOK on Thursday night was Marseille’s eighth win on the spin – a wonderful run of form that has seen them make steady progress to second place in Ligue 1 while also beating all before them in Europe. This is a fine achievement by any metric but even more so for a club that does not have anything like the squad depth of PSG.

Fine Away Record for Les Olympiens
While the 12-point gap between Marseille and PSG looks insurmountable in terms of Les Olympiens winning Ligue 1, they have at least given themselves a great chance of playing Champions League soccer next season. That brilliant run has put their fate in their own hands.
Also well worth noting here is that Marseille’s form on the road has been nothing short of sensational. Since the autumn, they have taken no less than 33 points out of a possible 45 away from home – a record even better than PSG’s in that same period.

PSG vs Marseille Pick
While Le Classique derbies tend to go the way of PSG, there is no way Marseille’s momentum can be ignored. With a noisy, fervent following expected to make the trip from the South of France to the capital, Les Olympiens have a genuine chance here to do something special. At +600 for the away win, this is definitely where the value lies.
Pick: Marseille to win (+600)
