Panthers, Chanticleers Find Home Cooking Distasteful
The 0-3 Georgia Panthers and the 3-0 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers are meeting for the sixth time on Saturday, September 24. The best news for the Chanticleers may be that they are traveling to the game.
3-0 Coastal Carolina is only a 2.5 favorite over 0-3 Georgia State this Thursday.

At home against the Panthers, Coastal Carolina is 0-3 both straight up and against the spread. Last year, the Chanticleers fell 42-40 to Georgia State as 12.5-point home favorites.
On the road, though, Coastal Carolina is 2-0 both SU and ATS. The Chanticleers covered as 4-point road favorites in a 51-0 rout two years ago. In 2018, Coastal Carolina was the 2.5-point road chalk at Georgia State and won 37-34.
Coastal Carolina is a 2-point road favorite Thursday at 7:30pm ET on ESPN2. It can also be live streamed on fuboTV. The Chanticleers are among 32 FBS schools that are still unbeaten.
Do The Math: Longhorns And Red Raiders Adding Up
The total on games between the 2-1 Texas Longhorns and 2-1 Texas Tech Red Raiders hasn’t gone under 50 points since 1998. Amazingly, though, the over is only 13-9 during that span.
Lately, however, they’re getting over on it in a big way. Last year, with the total set at 62.5, Texas doubled Texas Tech 70-35. In 2020, the total was established at 71 points. The Longhorns outscored the Red Raiders 63-56 in a game that went to overtime.
Texas Tech has only allowed 70 pts three times in school history
• 2014 vs 10-win TCU who went to NY6 Bowl
• 2015 vs 10-win OSU who went to NY6 Bowl
• 2021 vs 5-win Texas who didn't even make a bowl, lost 6 straight, one being to Kansas at home#TEXvsTTU#TechFactTuesday— Kyle Umlang (@kyleumlang) September 20, 2022
They also covered the total of 65 points (Texas 49-24 win) in 2019 and 62.5 points (41-34 Texas victory) in 2018. That’s four successive hits on big overs.
However, in 2016, the Longhorns and Red Raiders combined for 82 points in a 45-37 Texas triumph. Astonishingly, that wasn’t enough to go over. The total that year was set at an enormous 85.5 points.
This year, Texas is a 6.5-point road favorite on Saturday at 3:30pm ET. The total is set at 60 points – the lowest number for this game since 2017. ESPN is carrying the broadcast, or it can be live streamed on fuboTV.
Commodores Very Accommodating To Crimson Tide
Things are looking up for the Vanderbilt Commodores. They’re 3-1 for the first time since 2018. Considering they were a combined 2-19 over the previous two seasons, that alone is impressive.
The last time Vandy got off to a better start was in 2008. The Commodores opened 5-0 under then-head coach Bobby Johnson.
Alabama plays Vanderbilt on Saturday, which reminds me of my favorite newspaper lede ever, from The Birmingham News' Jimmy Bryan following the Crimson TIde's 66-3 win over the Commodores in 1979. pic.twitter.com/10tSDfuMjW

Too bad they’ve got the #2 Alabama Crimson Tide on the agenda for Week 4. Alabama, 3-0, is Vanderbilt’s kryptonite. Then again, you could say that about a lot of schools.
The Tide have rolled over the Commodores so often, they make it look easy like a Sunday morning. Alabama has won 22 in a row SU against Vanderbilt. The Commodores last victory over the Crimson Tide was in 1984. The Tide have covered in the past three meetings. However, Vandy is 4-3-1 ATS in the last eight games against Alabama.
Alabama is established as a 40.5-point favorite in this game. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm ET on Saturday. The broadcast is being carried by the SEC Network and live streamed on fuboTV.
