First place is on the line in the NFC North when the Vikings host the Lions on Sunday in Week 3. Player props are available for a Detroit vs Minnesota matchup that features one of the league’s highest-scoring teams in the Lions.

This contest carries a 52.5-point total, the second highest on this week’s slate. There’s no shortage of star power in this matchup, especially at the wide receiver position. Minnesota’s Justin Jefferson ranks fifth in the league in receiving yards, while Detroit’s Amon-Ra St. Brown is sixth in receptions.

Brown and the Lions are currently 6-point underdogs in the Week 3 NFL odds, which should set Detroit up for a pass-heavy game script in catch up mode.

Pick #1: Amon-Ra St. Brown Over 6.5 Receptions

Brown has seen double-digit targets in each of his last eight games dating back to last season, catching at least eight balls in all of those outings. That includes a contest against the Vikings, where he torched the Minnesota secondary for 10 receptions and a score.

And now he has done it: Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown has now tied the NFL record with at least 8 catches in 8 straight games.

He’s caught 75% of his targets during this incredible run, and the Lions are doing everything they can to scheme him open. That includes plenty of slot snaps against weaker corners and safeties. Minnesota’s star safety Harrison Smith is out for this game, further elevating Brown’s ability to play a pivotal role in Detroit’s upset bid in the Lions vs Vikings picks.

Detroit’s offense has been one of the big surprises of the season, averaging 35.5 points per game. Their defense, on the other hand, has been a major disappointment. Only Arizona has allowed more points per game, while the Lions are hemorrhaging yards to enemy backs. They’ve coughed up 304 rushing yards so far, and five TD to opposing RB’s.

That’s great news for Dalvin Cook, who’s still looking for his first score. Cook’s seen 26 carries and 11 targets through two games, so it’s only a matter of time before he finds the box.
