  • June 21: After tying the best-of-three final at 1-1 on Sunday, UNC has become the favorite (again) to win its first national title. The Tar Heels are priced at 58 cents (-138) at Kalshi and a considerably shorter -155 at BetMGM. Oklahoma has faded to 45 cents (+122) at Kalshi and +120 at BetMGM.
  • June 20: The Sooners cruised to a 9-3 win in Game 1 and are now -223 chalk at BetMGM and -212 favorites at Kalshi. North Carolina has faded to +203 at Kalshi and +170 at BetMGM ahead of must-win Game 2.
  • June 18: The best-of-three final is set; North Carolina is a -144 favorite over Oklahoma (+144) at Kalshi. At BetMGM, Oklahoma is slightly longer at +145 but UNC is much shorter at -175.
  • June 17: The CWS is down to four teams: UNC can eliminate WVU on Wednesday, while Oklahoma can knock out Georgia. West Virginia and Georgia both need to win two straight to reach the best-of-three finals. Despite that, Georgia is priced at +275 to win the national championship, ahead of Oklahoma at +310. North Carolina is an even-money favorite while the Mountaineers are +900 longshots.
  • June 16: Oklahoma’s 4-3 upset of Georgia on Monday sent the Bulldogs’ odds tumblin from +150 to +700 at BetMGM. Oklahoma improved to +275, which is the second-shortest price but remains well back of fellow 2-0 North Carolina, which has become the -115 odds-on chalk.
  • June 15: Three days into the CWS, UNC is roughly an even-money favorite at most sportsbooks, with Georgia close behind at +150 to +165. Ole Miss was the first team eliminated.
  • June 8: The eight-team CWS field will include Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Texas, Troy, and West Virginia. UGA is the overall favorite (on average) though some sportsbooks have the Tar Heels and Bulldogs as co-favorites.

How to Bet on the College World Series

Pre-tournament odds: When betting on CWS futures, the best value can be found in the first few weeks of the season. The odds are available before the season starts, so you can call your shot on a team you like with the best odds. An example of this is Tennessee. Another great time to place your College World Series bets is before the NCAA Tournament begins in early June. This way, you have all the information gathered from the regular season before placing your wager.

Lastly, you can wait until right before the College World Series begins. You know which eight teams have made it, you know the matchups and the path of each team, and you can see how they have done in the NCAA Tournament.

Research and analysis: Be confident in your College World Series futures. The best way to accomplish this is by staying informed on the team you would like to bet on pre-tournament. Consider the team’s pitching depth, lineup, and previous success in the tournament.

College baseball is a high-scoring sport, and you will notice a lot of teams have great hitting, but the pitching depth is what separates good teams from great teams. Even midmajors typically have a great Day 1 starter, but then utilize their bullpen for the rest of the series. It is also worth noting that the SEC has won the last five College World Series and six of the last seven.

Timing is important: With any bet, you want to maximize your value. If there is a team you believe can win the CWS, try to bet them earlier in the season for the best odds. Also, if a team you like goes on a tough stretch, which can happen in a 56-game season, trust your research that they can get back on track.

Their odds likely dropped during the losing streak, so you can get them at a good number to win it all.

Overall, stay informed on the teams you are betting on and how their odds move throughout the season.
